Intimacy

Please have this be a non judgemental place. This is my second second c section and im feeling a thousand times better than I did with my first. With my first c section I was in pain for 9 weeks and being intimate with my husband was the last thing on my mind. Im 2 days away from being 4 weeks postpartum and im feeling fantastic. Im able to do everything I was before having my baby. At my 2 week appointment my doctor said im healing really good and fast. I've been wanting to be intimate with my husband again. Hes not pressuring me at all I want it. I was just wondering if anyone didnt wait till 6 weeks to be intimate again? I read that it could be okay at 4 weeks if the bleeding has stopped. My bleeding has been done for a little over a week and when I went in for my c section they did a cervical check and I wasnt a centimeter dilated. If anyone didnt wait till 6 weeks how was your experience and the outcome?

I did it at 4 weeks post caesarean, just be gentle, use a condom and some Lube. And monitor for any heavy bleeding, abdominal pain or foul smelling discharge next few days. Chance of infection at 4 weeks is very rare, but not impossible which is why the condom dramatically drops the chances even more...

I got my period a few days later so we are having to wait until 6 weeks anyway now 😂

I just had my first c section in January. We were intimate the day I was 4 weeks pp. I had no bleeding, I felt great, and I was practically begging for it. I had no issues.. everything worked the same way it did before lol so no lube needed.

We did it, albeit very gently at 2 weeks pp..no issues to report at all.

So I had my C-section in June (second baby, first C-section) I healed really well and quickly too. We started having sex again at 2 weeks, of course it's not recommended, but we had no issues. Everything was like it was before, just obviously had to be a little more gentle

We did at 2 weeks pp. I think 4 should be fine, just make sure he’s clean!

Like others, we did it around 4 weeks PP despite knowing we should wait. The hormones were wild haha. I had never had a sex drive like that before.

The fucking survivors bias in the comment section is terrifying. Just wait the full six weeks or until cleared with your doctor! It doesn’t matter how clean the two of you are there will always be bacteria on the skin PLUS you have a wound the size of a goddamn dinner plate on the inside of your uterus! If you had someone cut a dinner plate size chunk of skin off the outside of your body would you let your husband jizz on it 4 weeks later before it was even healed?? I literally had a friend who got this “oh it’ll be okay!” advice from social media and ended up going into septic shock and nearly DYING!!!! Because of the amount of time she spent in the hospital her milk dried up and her uterus developed so much scarring she’s never going to be able to have another child. And that was the GOOD outcome for her. She should be dead. Do NOT leave your child without a mother because you want a nut… You can use external stimulation but NOTHING inside the vagina. Not even tampons.

Belly Button

Hi all,

Little ones cord fell off last night, today it looks like she has a little stump. Does anyone know what this could be?

Midwife is due to come out tomorrow so will ask her but intrigued in the meantime to see what you all think

is anyone in the same boat as me? 😭🩷

Is anyone else in a similar situation and just absolutely winging it at this point? 😭😂

I have an 8½ month old who has decided that sleep is completely optional. She barely naps during the day and is waking constantly through the night, sometimes staying awake for hours. She’s absolutely exhausted but will fight sleep with everything in her tiny body 😭 I’m trying everything and honestly I’m at the point where I don’t even know what to do anymore.

On top of that, I’ve got quite a few health issues that have been really kicking my arse lately and making it difficult to function normally. And now I’m pregnant again on top of all of it 🥲 I’m exhausted, constantly struggling to keep up with everything, and some days I genuinely feel like I’m barely keeping my head above water.

I love my wee girl more than anything and I know this is just a season, but I’m so physically and mentally drained. I feel like I’m constantly trying to look after everyone while having absolutely nothing left in the tank myself.

I know there probably isn’t a magic answer or much advice anyone can give, but I think I’d feel so much better just knowing I’m not the only one in this boat. ❤️

Are there any other mums who are dealing with awful sleep, pregnancy, health problems, or just generally feeling like they’re struggling to function? How are you coping? 😭

Can dads stay overnight?

I’m having a c section next week and am hoping dad can stay overnight with me. My last baby was in 2022 so it was still a bit ‘covidy’ and he could only stay with me during visitor hours. It was a nightmare as I was in so much pain and could barely move to get to my baby and when I pressed the button for a midwife it took over half an hour for someone to come. I am giving birth at the JR Oxford.
