My husband's work has been slammed lately. Today, at the end of his break, a coworker told him they were really busy, so he ended his break 5 minutes early to go help. They were non-stop busy for the next 1.5 hours, and the second they slowed down, he said "your're welcome" to his coworkers. They were confused. He's furious that they didn't thank him for ending his break early, but they also took their lunch breaks a full hour late to stay and help him. He doesn't think they needed a thank you because "he didn't need them and would have been fine if they went on break on time," and because "they got paid for that full 1.5 hours before their break and he didn't get paid for the extra 5 minutes he worked." And apparently he did it to "help them," but they worked longer because it's "their job, not to help him." He's genuinely angry, and I think his logic is borderline narcissistic. I think both groups deserve to be appreciated for their extra work, but not eating lunch until 3pm feels worse to me than ending an hour break 5 minutes early. I probably won't even tell him I'm posting this survey, I'm just really curious what others think.

I can understand him being annoyed a venting to his wife about it. I can’t tell if you’re misinterpreting how mad he truly was or not telling us how mad he truly was 👀 cuz it just sounds like he was annoyed which is understandable, the “you’re welcome” was a bit petty and unnecessary but maybe not narcissistic. But if he was having a mental breakdown then yea this is super weird.

I feel like this is just immature? Like he needs validation for an extra 5 minutes?

I think its weird for him to need a thank you for 5 minutes of extra help but not thanking people for giving an hour and a half of help (paid or not). Also, I know the coworker asked for help, but were they aware that he ended his break early? Since he only had 5 minutes left its possible that they thought the break was over and asked for help before he got started on a different task. This whole thing seems petty to me.
Hopefully, like someone else mentioned, maybe he was just venting and not actually as upset as you think. There's times that I vent to my husband because a situation was annoying for me and he thinks I'm angry/frustrated and that he needs to find a solution.

As someone who was a manager in retail before I had my daughter I had my lunch interrupted constantly and that was if I could clock out for lunch. Most days I was the only manager on with no overlap so I couldn’t clock out incase someone needed to do a return ect. I understand being interrupted on your break can be frustrating but you should be grateful for your colleagues working through their designated break time to help out. Now if this is something that regularly happens to him where he is interrupted on break and normally they do not have their breaks affected I get his frustration a little. But mostly I think it’s rude not to say thank you to them and leave it at that. They did make a sacrifice. It’s strange to me he doesn’t see that.

Feeling at a loss. Baby is nearly 7 months and we started weaning at 5.5 months as he gave all the signs. It hasn’t gone well at all and he still is hardly eating any meals unless it’s the pouches (which I don’t want to give him). I’ve also started giving him breakfast in the form of porridge or Weetabix and he just screams in his chair. I don’t know what to do as it just ends in tears for both of us!

How would you navigate my situation?
My brother (and only sibling) wants to fly in from overseas to visit for Christmas, but with my due date being late November, I have some anxiety around a few things.
1. He’s a heavy smoker and even if I ask him not to smoke before he sees baby, he still smells like it. I don’t want our newborn baby smelling or inhaling any of that off his clothing.
2. It’s just awkward - I’m uncomfortable with him staying with us, and my husband and I will restrict guests over Christmas to 30-45 minute visits. It’s really not worth him flying across the world to see us for 30 mins a day, if that.
We don’t plan to restrict our extended family completely, at the same time no one else we know is a heavy smoker and since they live here it won’t matter if they only pop by for a short period of time. My mum is flying in to stay with us to support us postpartum for 1 month.
How is everyone planning to go about Christmas and holiday season? Especially if you have family overseas?

I have 3 year old son and 10 months old daughter. Since I have my daughter something has changed in me. I’m always arguing with my partner, always angry and overstimulated. He works 8h a day 5 days a week, he comes home need to rest etc. I take care of both kids most of the time, I wake up at night when my daughter wakes up, I cook , clean and I do literally everything. Don’t get me wrong I’m stay at home mom so this is part of the things I need to do and I’m not moaning about this, but there’s something that just makes me sooo angry and overstimulated. He can rest whenever he wants cause I will always take the kids, when he was ill he could spend the day in bed but when I got ill I still have to run 24/7 and do everything, I can’t go to the shop alone always have to take one kid with me I don’t remember when I had at least few hours off my duty and I feel like even when my partner is working he should help me more at home at least by supporting me mentally. I’ve been really angry and always snapping at him, yesterday he came back home and we were arguing and today same. He said he’s got enough that all I do is shouting and moaning. I feel like he doesn’t understand me anymore and we’re just two different people in parenthood. I really don’t know what to do. He always just says he’s doing everything for our family (we moved to my country and he’s always calling it a sacrifice from his side). I’m just so tired from all of it. On his days off his never up to do anything with me and kids such as going out for a walk etc. it makes me so tired cause I want to give my kids memories and not just sit at home with us all the time but to actually do some fun things and I feel like it’s always me pushing for it. I really feel like not myself lately, my body changed, I don’t want intimacy with my partner cause I’m just sooo tired and he doesn’t understand it. But I think my tiredness is more like mental tiredness instead of physical. Am I being stupid? Sometimes I really dont want to argue but I’m so annoyed that I start arguing🤷♀️I don’t know how to get myself back to be normal. I love my life with kids and I feel super good to be a mom but it’s just the thing with my partner that makes me tired.
