How would you navigate my situation?
My brother (and only sibling) wants to fly in from overseas to visit for Christmas, but with my due date being late November, I have some anxiety around a few things.
1. He’s a heavy smoker and even if I ask him not to smoke before he sees baby, he still smells like it. I don’t want our newborn baby smelling or inhaling any of that off his clothing.
2. It’s just awkward - I’m uncomfortable with him staying with us, and my husband and I will restrict guests over Christmas to 30-45 minute visits. It’s really not worth him flying across the world to see us for 30 mins a day, if that.
We don’t plan to restrict our extended family completely, at the same time no one else we know is a heavy smoker and since they live here it won’t matter if they only pop by for a short period of time. My mum is flying in to stay with us to support us postpartum for 1 month.

Tell him you're restricting visits to 30 mins while baby is a newborn and tell him he can't stay with you. Absolutely no way.
With the smoking, you can tell him no smoking near the baby but you can't make him stop smoking completely. A compromise might be telling him no holding baby if he has smoked before coming and then he has a choice to shower and skip the morning cigs that day or come and not hold the baby. Your baby isn't going to smell old smoke from across the room and that's not classed as passive smoking either so is safe.
I had a stinky uncle who smoked and wore aftershave and he visited but didn't hold the baby, it was summer so I also opened the windows.
He might surprise you and get nicotine patches instead.

I don’t have family over seas but we have family who are smokers and also family and friends who loveee perfume . I’m getting spare large t shirts and getting them to put them on if they have perfume on or have smoked in there clothes or smell of smoke
Regarding your brother staying he could always get a hotel and see other family / friends if they live near too x

Similar situation with my brother living abroad. He’s flying back for the birth and to see family as he’s spending Christmas with his GF this year in Vancouver.
He doesn’t smoke though. I was fuming after my cousin held my baby after spraying Miss Coco Chanel 🥴 baby smelt “wrong” so I had to bathe her after being distraught on PP hormones.
Lessons learned, I told family not to spray or hold her fresh from the shower. I would ask your brother to shower before he holds her.

I have 3 year old son and 10 months old daughter. Since I have my daughter something has changed in me. I’m always arguing with my partner, always angry and overstimulated. He works 8h a day 5 days a week, he comes home need to rest etc. I take care of both kids most of the time, I wake up at night when my daughter wakes up, I cook , clean and I do literally everything. Don’t get me wrong I’m stay at home mom so this is part of the things I need to do and I’m not moaning about this, but there’s something that just makes me sooo angry and overstimulated. He can rest whenever he wants cause I will always take the kids, when he was ill he could spend the day in bed but when I got ill I still have to run 24/7 and do everything, I can’t go to the shop alone always have to take one kid with me I don’t remember when I had at least few hours off my duty and I feel like even when my partner is working he should help me more at home at least by supporting me mentally. I’ve been really angry and always snapping at him, yesterday he came back home and we were arguing and today same. He said he’s got enough that all I do is shouting and moaning. I feel like he doesn’t understand me anymore and we’re just two different people in parenthood. I really don’t know what to do. He always just says he’s doing everything for our family (we moved to my country and he’s always calling it a sacrifice from his side). I’m just so tired from all of it. On his days off his never up to do anything with me and kids such as going out for a walk etc. it makes me so tired cause I want to give my kids memories and not just sit at home with us all the time but to actually do some fun things and I feel like it’s always me pushing for it. I really feel like not myself lately, my body changed, I don’t want intimacy with my partner cause I’m just sooo tired and he doesn’t understand it. But I think my tiredness is more like mental tiredness instead of physical. Am I being stupid? Sometimes I really dont want to argue but I’m so annoyed that I start arguing🤷♀️I don’t know how to get myself back to be normal. I love my life with kids and I feel super good to be a mom but it’s just the thing with my partner that makes me tired.

My 2 year old is currently under SALT & neuro-disability team. I also have a newborn.
The newborn seems to be triggering my toddler as she's loud - when she cries/laughs/coo's anything.
My toddler won't sit anywhere near the baby. She will cry everytime the baby makes a noise & everytime I pick her up/feed her.
Because she cannot verbalise why she's upset she'll just moan and whinge, she's always been such a happy kid but the baby seems to have really upset her.
I try get as much quality time with both as I can.
My toddler plays independently and is fine for abit but needs constant stimulation & I don't always have the time due to baby.
My toddler doesn't go to nursery due to concerns I have about local ones but goes to a playgroup once a week with my mum & eventually enjoys it, once she's gotten over the initial noise.
I am struggling as I am not getting 10 seconds to myself at all. My husband works everyday & I have limited support. I feel like i'm failing them both, as I can't split my time enough. I'm missing my toddler grow up but also missing my baby grow up.
I feel stuck & I am not always enjoying motherhood. This shit is so hard.
Any tips on how I can get my toddler to adapt to the baby? Or how I can cope? I've become the miserable snappy mum I swore i'd never become.
Love from a very overwhelmed mum x
