Some people on here must have a really bad life

I read comments on here all the time, it’s so useful when I’m putting the baby to sleep. Half the time I get advice, realise I’m not going through things alone etc and the other half is women with very little sensitivity for other women.

I’m 25 but I would say I’m very self aware and emotionally intelligent (took long to get there lol)

There are women on here telling other women to leave their man, telling women to get abortions and even telling women their partners have raped them!

I understand what this app does for women, and I understand that sometimes women can be in situations that make them so numb to things that they cannot see they are being used, manipulated, abused etc and I love that we can get advice..

I’ve always had a saying: I would never tell a woman to get an abortion, I would also never tell a woman to leave their man (unless he is cheating or being abusive)
Why? I cannot come and help you if you end up struggling on your own nor can I comfort you if you regret getting rid of your child, so I feel like I have no say in the matter.

Most men are slow, most men are annoying, most men are selfish - please take this with a pinch of salt, if you are tired, feeling like your better off alone or getting no help, then by all means do what you need to do because I would.

But the comments on here are sometimes so crazy!
A woman explained how her husband didn’t help her move boxes and took a nap (he had just come off a shift) people were saying leave him etc and I said;
have you tried speaking to him to make him aware before you listen to everyone saying leave him?
And a woman in the comments started to argue with me??

Am I the issue? 🤣

No, it's the same with Mumsnet. Honestly, my husband and his work schedule can really annoy me at times and I'm often left with little support with raising our first child and growing our second, but he isn't abusive- just materialistic and likes buying stuff whereas I'm not and don't. I can't imagine actually leaving him even though I'm embarrassed by how much my parents compensate for him.

Need advice

My 10 week old has always been very attracted to me from the start and early on when I put her down in the bouncer or the mat to play she woukd start to cry after 10-20 minutes. Recently its gotten alot worse to the point she starts to cry as soon as I lower her down or bring her away from me. The only time she's happy and not crying when im not holding her is nappy changes, she rarely does tummy time on the mat as she will just scream the place down (she does it on my chest instead).

Will she grow out of this or is there anything I can do to settle her when I put her down, ive tried toys, lights, singing, books but nothing works unless I pick her up. I feel bad that nothing gets done around the house or that I dont get 5 minutes to myself. Shes exclusively bf.

Owlet Sock Red Alert

Hi mums! Has anyone experienced their Owlet sock giving a red alert for oxygen levels dropping below 80%?

This has happened twice now with my 7-month-old daughter, both times while she’s been sleeping on her tummy. Each time I’ve gone straight in to check on her and she’s been absolutely fine - breathing normally, responsive and sleeping peacefully.

What’s confusing me is that the Owlet seems to work perfectly fine the rest of the night, and on other nights, showing completely normal oxygen levels. Even when I check the history after the alerts, her oxygen levels look normal, although I understand the graph shows averages.

She’s also recently had a cold and still has a slightly congested, runny nose, so I’m wondering whether that could be contributing.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you get your baby’s oxygen or breathing checked by a doctor, and was anything actually found? Or did it turn out to be false alerts from the Owlet?

Screaming only at night

Has anyone else experienced this with their little one? 🥹💗

My little girl is nearly 7 weeks old and during the day she’s generally absolutely fine, but as soon as nighttime comes around, it’s like a switch flips!

She screams and cries, sometimes for hours, and it feels like nothing I do settles her. I’ve tried feeding, winding, changing, cuddling. I even started her on infacol and giving her gripe water.

The strange thing is that it’s only at night! During the day she’s a completely different baby.

Has anyone else gone through this? Is it just a phase, witching hour, colic or something else? When did it get better for you?

I’m absolutely exhausted and have no idea what else to try.

Weaning tips and advice

Hello!! My girl is almost a year old and I’m planning on trying to wean her soon! I need all the tips and tricks because she is very dependent on nursing to sleep and for comfort. I feel terribly taking that away but for my mental sake I want to be done bf soon! I know day time feeds are easier to take away first I’m just nervous she won’t get enough solids to replace nursing.
