Hi ladies, on advise form my health visitor to perhaps supplement with formula as my baby is between the 2nd & 9th centile (she has stayed here consistently I was just worried the BF journey was coming to an end) I tried some lactation tea bags to see if they could boost my milk supply.
My baby has been incredibly fussy & gassy both ends since it's been weeks since, routinely checked over by the GP no concerns, still lots of wet & dirty nappies.
Currently 10 weeks just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to help we've tried winding more often & infacol.
I only used a handful tea bags over a couple days as directed but it's seemed to have had a lasting impact unsure if we just have a fussy baby & it's a phase she's going through.

Firstly, it is SO unlikely that the tea has affected your baby and the milk, the amount of any herbs that would be in your milk is almost undetectable so it’s unlikely their fussiness is down to that, likely just a phase. I remember my little boy went through a really fussy stage wind wise at around 10 weeks (he’s EBF too).
As for the HV advising you to supplement with formula to up their weight, I’m not a health professional, however, if your baby is on a consistent centile, doing plenty of wet and dirty nappies and is generally happy, your breast milk is enough!!! You do not need to fill them up with something else to try and fatten them up, they’re not a turkey for Christmas. Some baby’s are small, but Aslong as they’re consistent at that rate and not dropping, a small baby is a perfectly healthy baby! My little boy is the 5th centile, has always been small but is thriving and has always been, his centile being on the smaller side isn’t a bad thing.

Health visitors have an awful reputation for misleading breastfeeding advise. If you’re feeling they’ve cause doubt, and you’re unhappy about feeling that you’ve been made to use formula, it would be worth speaking with a lactation consultant, as I’m confident (from my own conversations with a few and research) that they would tell you your baby is perfectly fine being EBF and a small centile (reliant on consistent gain, dirty nappies etc) your breast milk is phenomenal, don’t doubt your ability just because you have a small baby xxx

Very very good advice here already!
The 10 week phase is notorious and absolutely NOTHING to do with your supply. It was literally the hardest 1-2 weeks ever with my boy. I found this post (which explains it) too late for me, but here you go. Please share it with others when you’re on the other end ☺️☺️

I’m having my first baby in January and my mum asked me today whether I’d like her to be in the room alongside my husband for the birth of little boy. I could tell she asked because it’s something she really wants but I felt it was important to be honest and say that I really just want it to be my husband and I, but would absolutely love for her to be in the waiting room and the first to meet him after us.
I received a really hostile response back and she told me that her best friend witnessed her daughter’s birth and she feels like I don’t love her as much / im not listening to her feelings because I don’t want to go down that route. It then became quite a negative conversation around how she feels left behind and that I only go to her ‘when I need something’.
It’s made me feel really emotional and turbulent and it’s made me feel quite sad because I feel like she’s not listening to what I want and my boundaries but instead making me feel bad for what is ultimately my decision.
Has anyone had something similar happen? How did you navigate the conversation after?

My 10 week old has always been very attracted to me from the start and early on when I put her down in the bouncer or the mat to play she woukd start to cry after 10-20 minutes. Recently its gotten alot worse to the point she starts to cry as soon as I lower her down or bring her away from me. The only time she's happy and not crying when im not holding her is nappy changes, she rarely does tummy time on the mat as she will just scream the place down (she does it on my chest instead).
Will she grow out of this or is there anything I can do to settle her when I put her down, ive tried toys, lights, singing, books but nothing works unless I pick her up. I feel bad that nothing gets done around the house or that I dont get 5 minutes to myself. Shes exclusively bf.

Hi mums! Has anyone experienced their Owlet sock giving a red alert for oxygen levels dropping below 80%?
This has happened twice now with my 7-month-old daughter, both times while she’s been sleeping on her tummy. Each time I’ve gone straight in to check on her and she’s been absolutely fine - breathing normally, responsive and sleeping peacefully.
What’s confusing me is that the Owlet seems to work perfectly fine the rest of the night, and on other nights, showing completely normal oxygen levels. Even when I check the history after the alerts, her oxygen levels look normal, although I understand the graph shows averages.
She’s also recently had a cold and still has a slightly congested, runny nose, so I’m wondering whether that could be contributing.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you get your baby’s oxygen or breathing checked by a doctor, and was anything actually found? Or did it turn out to be false alerts from the Owlet?

Has anyone else experienced this with their little one? 🥹💗
My little girl is nearly 7 weeks old and during the day she’s generally absolutely fine, but as soon as nighttime comes around, it’s like a switch flips!
She screams and cries, sometimes for hours, and it feels like nothing I do settles her. I’ve tried feeding, winding, changing, cuddling. I even started her on infacol and giving her gripe water.
The strange thing is that it’s only at night! During the day she’s a completely different baby.
Has anyone else gone through this? Is it just a phase, witching hour, colic or something else? When did it get better for you?
I’m absolutely exhausted and have no idea what else to try.
