Nausea meds causing drowsiness

Ive been prescribed apo-doxylamine which is commonly known as unisom. But im told to have 1 in the morning, 1 mid day, and 2 at bedtime. But its making me so drowsy during the day!! Or is that just cause im in the first trimester ?

How did you all get any work done during the day omg. If I work from home, I take a nap. But if im in the office, its brutal.

That's why I didn't take it my third pregnancy, with my first I would nap at work, and my second i wasn't working and would nap all the time. You can maybe ask for zofran, that was the only other medicine I could take that didn't cause drowsiness

Hi there, I used this during my second pregnancy. I told my Dr the same thing and she said to just take it at night. I was skeptical at first, but if you take it at night, the drowsiness wears off by morning, but the anti-nausea effects last throughout the day. I used to take 1/2 a tablet each night because that was enough for me. Hope that helps!! :)

There’s one with b6 that you only take once a day. I would take it before bed with my prenatals. I had to take it my whole pregnancy. Ask your doctor about it

I took Vitamin B6 during the day every 6 hrs for nausea and Unisom 1/2 tablet at night with b6. It helped my nausea a lot. 1 tablet of Unisom at night still had me drowsy in the morning

25mg. So i took about 12.5mg. You might be fine just taking the 10mg at bedtime only. I was originally told to take the whole 25mg but I realized it had me too drowsy the next day so I only took half and it still helped.

I was instructed i could take up to 3 in a day. But that I was only supposed to take it when I felt like it was necessary. 🤷‍♀️

Elective c section , but went into labour early

Has anyone had a c section scheduled, but then baby decided to come early? What happened then? Were they still able to do a c section?

How are we getting babies ready to come out?

I’m not usually one to be impatient and I do believe babies come when they’re ready (hence getting to 42+1 in my first pregnany).
However, I have a toddler and had a previous c-section. I’m scared about how continuing to get bigger will affect my scar / possibility of it rupturing.
I am booked for an elective section if baby is not here by next Monday - but I really would prefer a VBAC (for recovery with a toddler)

Did you do anything that you truly think helped bring on labour?

Freaking out a bit

I am aware that the fear I am having is irrational but I am seeking similar stories and some re-assurance. I had a private scan which I thought was 9th week, it proved to be 13+3 weeks, despite rushing to book NHS appts, I missed the window for NT check against Down Syndrome. My blood test against the syndrome at 17 weeks came back low risk, my 20 week anomaly scan showed no concerns and everything is fine, including nuchal fold in norm. However, due to the fact I had no NT checked (I realised post private scan that it was just a basic one), I am kinda freaking out as I am 40, already feel guilty that I got my dates so wrong at the start, and the private examiner asked if I planned the blood tests which felt a bit odd. It might have been just a routine question, however it's stuck with me. Any similar stories? With happy ending of course 🙈😅

Head at 97th percentile

Hi all,

Had my 28 week scan and baby was measuring 67th percentile overall, but head at 97th percentile.

Freaking out that something is wrong with their brain and have to wait until Thursday for my 32 week growth scan.

Had a loss at 24 weeks last year and don't think I could cope with more bad news :(

Gestational Diabetes

Hey! Just been diagnosed with GD, I’m not sure how I feel about it other than trying my best not to overthink! Does anyone have any tips or has anyone else had GD? 🩷
