I went to the library with my almost 3 yo and there’s a separate area for 0 -2yo and 3-10 year olds. I asked the lady if we could go in the 3 year old room bc the babies area was like a playpen too little for my kid and she’s like no bc she’s not 3. Like lady 🙄 it’s not that big of a deal no one is here and my kid turns 3 next month geez. It’s a library it’s not like it’s a roller coaster ride.

Ask for forgiveness not permission

I get it being annoying but I'm also a bit of a rule follower, particularly when it comes to work. I imagine her employer probably would have 100% been happy for you to do whatever but some people get anxious about breaking rules and possibly getting into trouble, even for stuff that seems really trivial to the casual observer. So whilst I agree it was silly I'd try not to think too unkindly of her. No matter what the job people can be passionate and want to stick to the rules no matter what. Next time I'd just not ask, people aren't that great at guessing toddler ages anyway.

Don’t ask just go

Agree w Marissa and Marlene. Unless something clearly needs permission I wouldn’t ask. I would’ve just went in there myself- it’s an open public area. I’ve done it many times before

My 18 month old almost always wants to play in the bigger kid areas. As long as you're on top of your kid being safe and not ruining anyone else's time, who cares where they play.

If you ask, they have to tell you the official rules for safety reasons. However, if you just go in I'm sure your one-month-under-three year old will not be questioned about being in the three year old zone.

I do hate it when bigger boisterous kids go in the baby zone though and are running and jumping as they could very easily hurt a little one

You shouldn’t have asked lol
I was putting my son to bed after a nice day together, and he just came out with it. 10 minutes prior he said ‘ I love you mummy’ then he said ‘I hate you but you’re part of my family’ 🫠 His little sister gets a lot of my attention and my patience isn’t where it used to be, but this has just really thrown me!!! He’s a daddies boy and maybe our connection has slipped a little because of our daughter. Any advice?

Why is it so easy for him to cheat? Why does he do it? What do I do that is so difficult for him to love me and our almost 3 month old daughter? All I know is I need to break the cycle I’m done! I rather be a single mom and struggle than deal with this all over! My self esteem is gone! Self respect in myself gone I continues forgive and forgive and forgive just to be cheated on again I just want a good man that is loyal 🙄😟😞done

Most moms can deal with their toddlers 24/7... i CAN NOT. I wonder why that is. I need a break every night

Hey everyone so I just wanted a bit of a rant really and see what you guys think. Me and my partner are buying a house and we are butting heads about different things (making me question it now tbh). Anyway we were discussing bills and my partner has said that we should be 50/50 he earns more than me and by the time everything has come out I’m left with £100 I mean he earns more how is that fair, we also have 2 children. I said he would have to help with food etc and said well I can’t get it all and you would have to help too like how with £100 left. I’m really questioning how this is going to work and questioning my relationship he was so nasty yesterday

Hello
We are emigrating to Australia this month. My toddler is super close to her family (who shall remain in the UK). Does anyone have any tips to help us prepare her for this?
Thank you

I’m a first time mum with minimal support my baby is 3 months old and I’ve googled about weaning readiness signs and she is showing a few (obviously going to wait until fully safe) however advice online is so contradicting saying it’s fine to give purées mixed with breast milk fully blended with no lumps at 4 months and others saying not to do anything until 6 months. I’m so confused. Some mums have said their baby had baby rice at just over two months old (which I don’t agree with) others have said they tried tasters at 4 months. I just don’t know what advice to follow. I know NHS say 6 months but if the readiness is there do I look into doing tasters? Who’s best to ask the health visitor or doctor? Help please
