My 4 year old has been waking up around 5am every morning! She had been going asleep between 7-7.30pm but I was thinking maybe it needs pushing back so the last few nights shes gone asleep at 7.45-8.15pm but shes still waking at 5am...

When my 1.5 year old was doing 5am wakeups, strangely it worked to put her to bed nearly an hour *earlier*. Ever since doing that she's been sleeping until 6am and recently even until 7am!

Same as Rianne, earlier bedtime. So many parents fall into this idea that their kids need a later and later bedtime because of early rising, it's not usually the case. My 3 kids have always had early bedtimes, 6.30pm until they were about 4/5, then 7pm. I increased in half hour increments. And when I say bed at 6.30 I mean asleep at 6.30, not starting the routine at 6.30. My 1 year old usually wakes up between 6.45-7.30.

I have noticed trying to put them to bed later doesn’t help at all my daughter normally goes to bed at 8pm wakes up at 8:30 9am we had a week where she would wake up at 6am so we tried putting her to bed at 9 for 2 days and it did absolutely nothing so we ended up putting her to bed at 7:30 and she slept until almost 9am so if anything make bed time earlier not later‼️
Thank you..I'll try earlier

Any schedule changes can take longer to kick in :) Sleep pressure is cumulative so the effect of changes can take days or even a few weeks to have its full impact.
My 9mo sleeps from 7pm until 5:30 am ?
How can I get him to sleep in a little later until 6:30 !
Also regarding naps during the day are we capping those naps and waking them up or letting them sleep for however long they need it ?

I gave birth to my first kiddo a week ago today and all the doctors and nurses keep asking if I’m breast feeding and seeming… disappointed? Concerned? When I say that I mainly pump and bottle feed and then recommend a lactation specialist. We used formula the first couple of days at the hospital, but I now pump enough milk to keep up with feedings.
My baby just doesn’t always latch and gets frantic when he can’t latch and then it all goes downhill from there so we typically stick to bottles. He does latch maybe once or twice a day when he just won’t accept a bottle nipple or to comfort feed, but it’s easier for us to bottle feed. Should I be trying the breast first?

Formula fed 9 week old here. I got the impression that I was waking my LO up to feed when she was just wriggling a bit and not actually awake and hungry. So tonight I monitored her and indeed she just slept. Her last full feed was at 21:00 (she had a 40ml snack at 23:00) and I got so anxious that I woke her up at 5:30 as she still hadnt woken. She only had 70ml lol so I guess she just wanted to be left?
Any advice or experience? 🙏

My little one is two weeks away from turning six months old. We’ve started weaning her on vegetables. A few weeks ago she used to sleep for five to seven-hour stretches but the last week has been awful. She wakes up every hour or two, crying but her eyes are closed. I rock her to sleep or sometimes feed her to sleep. The only way she’ll sleep for any length of time is in bed with me and my partner – not ideal! Has anyone else been through this or is currently experiencing it? Any tips on how to help my little one sleep longer or through would be really appreciated. Thanks! X
