I breastfeed my little one and my mother in law asked how long he’s sleeping I said he wakes up every 2-3 hours and tell me why she mentions giving him formula for bed and then proceeds to say you should give him formula in between feeding him breast milk I feel like formula is pushed so much like I don’t want to give my baby formula.

Honestly moms in that generation literally all do that. They believe it’s heavier and would help baby sleep longer during the night . I feel their generation don’t support exclusive BF, they mostly combo fed in their time. 🤷♀️

If you don’t want to give formula then don’t… it will likely have an impact on your supply… I’ve EBF my first 2 they’ve never had formula and doing completely fine… due my 3rd in May will also be EBF… as long as baby is putting on weight and following centile there is no need unless you want to do it… tell her to butt out

My MIL also gives bad advice! I think older generations are not very understanding of the baby’s needs, they raised their kids without the knowledge we have available for us now. Do what’s beat for you and the baby! Ask your partner to deal with his mother

No need! Baby will continue to wake during the night until you stop breastfeeding and even then there’s other factors that will wake them up like our ultimate fave… teething.
Depending on how old little one is… you can drop some night feeds and try settling without the breast as it starts to become comfort rather than hunger. It’s definitely hard but should get into a better routine within a week or 2 ❤️
If your choice is to breastfeed then don’t worry about any other opinions. There’s so many health benefits and you don’t need to over feed LO.

No need, you’re doing wonderfully.
Her head would absolutely spin if she knew about my 26 month old, who was still breastfed until recently, and he only started consistently sleeping through when he turned 2!
Or my friend’s 2 year old that was formula fed, but still doesn’t consistently sleep through, ever!
You do what is best for you and your family and shut out the noise x

My MIL once suggested to give baby formula so she could have her for the weekend 🙄🙄 like what?! 🤣 it’s a baby, not a doll haha that generation is something else entirely

~ it must be their generation for sure! my MIL was same, saying I only have enough milk for 1 baby … as i have twins… totally not how it works lol

Tell her to butt out, it’s your decision. I had to hide the formula my mom bought for my daughter since I’ve had her exclusively on breast milk since my milk came in. I have a great supply and have a huge stash in two separate freezers. I thaw it out constantly for when she feeds her. She just decides to use the formula from a brand that I don’t even like.
I don’t feel like I’m a good mum, I cannot stand my child clinging onto me/screaming I literally want to smack my head against a wall every time she makes that screeching noise I am seriously exhausted and I have no help whatsoever.

I just found out some bad news yesterday. My babygirl of 14 years has cancer. They found three large masses inside her. I am so devastated. I know i have to put her down but she is still acting like herself. Jumping on and off the bed/counter, eating and drinking.
I just dont know what to do or when to do it. How do I know when its time? She doesn't seem to be in any pain or anything. Vet said that chemo would be hard on her since she's lost weight and is fragile and her age.
I guess I'm making this post for any and all advice on when to know its time to put her down..

My daughter is having the worst meltdowns recently. I’m talking to the point where people are starting to stop outside my house and looking in with concern. The anxiety and humiliation leaving the house sometimes is exhausting. Kicking and screaming at the top of her voice in public and having everyone in the street looking at me, is a different kind of embarrassment and guilt. I’ve had a few conversations recently with various people about seeing someone professional about mt daughter’s behaviour. She’s also started using noises and moans to gesture what she wants, coming from an incredibly smart 3 year old who has been speaking full sentences since she was two. We have regressed in verbal communication, and the meltdowns are getting so horrifically bad. She also tugs at her clothes when distressed or pulls on her fingers. There is absolutely ZERO reasoning with her when she is like this, it’s just constant screaming. I’m a first time mum and just at a complete loss.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a bit of advice/reassurance from anyone who’s experienced something similar.
My baby girl is 8 days old and I’m currently combination feeding, breastfeeding, expressed milk and formula. I’ve really been trying to establish breastfeeding over the last couple of days, but it’s been a struggle since she was born.
She hasn’t had a poo for about a day and a half, and I’m wondering whether this could mean she isn’t getting enough milk directly from me. I’ve been giving expressed milk and formula this afternoon so I can keep an eye on exactly how much she’s taking.
She seems otherwise completely well — her temperature is fine, she’s feeding every few hours, sleeping well between wake windows, isn’t showing any obvious discomfort and her tummy isn’t hard.
I’ve already spoken to the midwife about it a couple of days ago and I’ll be speaking to them again tomorrow morning, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experienced something similar, especially with it being overnight. ❤️

Hi, I’m just wanting to ask those who have had epidurals during child birth. How were they for you, are you pleased you had one, what was recovery like etc. ♥️
