Experiences of epidural

HEAVENNNN 😂😂 no but seriously, they’re amazing. i had a spinal block at the same time as i was sooo far along by the time they got to me they said baby could come anytime and didn’t want me to have to do it without pain relief if that wasn’t my choice. very pleased i had one! it saved my childbirth experience for me personally. i’ve never been in any sort of pain in my life so birth was intense to say the least, i am ashamed to say that i was that crazy lady screaming through the contractions 🙈😂 she was stuck, wrong position blah blah blah just not good! the second that kicked in i was laughing, and really enjoying myself. i had a bit of a stressful delivery unfortunately regardless as we were rushed to theatre due to very high HR. recovery wise, ive had no side effects or long lasting changes. i get a little twinge in my back every now and then which im guessing is because of that but its a couple of seconds and goes. id definitely have one again if i do have another baby! xx

I can say mine did not work, worked for 45 mins. Can’t tell if I was dilating too fast or what but I went from 5cm to a 10cm in 45 mins. So I regret I had it, as it did not do much for me, the contractions kicked back in, I don’t know if it is because I was in oxytocin. And now I am 4 months pp and I have back pain sometimes in the spot and I can feel like something is there.

Had mine placed with gas and air, without it I don’t know how I would have kept still, I was crouching on the floor screaming and throwing up from labour pain haha
My epidural only worked on one side on my body for the first 2h so had to lay on one side to help. Not moving also meant not progressing so ended up with a c section

I said no to epidural in my birth plan, but those contractions 😶😶made my physically sick - my partner described me as ‘having an exorcism’
The epidural saved me🤣🤣 would highly recommend
Also You don’t see the needle
And 8 weeks pp my back is absolutely fine, had no issues
