My baby is 12 weeks and will feed non stop unless I take her off myself. She used to feed for 15 mins per breast (30min total)
She likes to comfort suck which leads to a lot of spit up and gas.
I’ve started to take her off after 8mins of constant sucking (15min total feed) She’s pooing and weeing a lot in the day and is following her centile. She also feeds every 2-3 hours and can go up to 6 hours between feeds at night.
I know health visitors say to let them come off themselves but she literally won’t so just want to see what other mums have experienced?!

I've started to do more frequent smaller feeds, as I was having a similar issue. He was spitting up a lot. Seems to be helping. I can't give an exact time frame though, as I just watch for cues.

So mine literally takes forever .. as I remember learning that the second fatty bit comes towards the end of the feed and the health visitor told me again last week not to take him off myself, but I am sat there for over an hour sometimes. He did 45 mins just one side the other day! On Friday my feeding time was over 8 hours in total 😳 he does get very sleepy but she reminded me to keep nudging him (but it still takes ages !)

Yes, mine was doing the same, so I started listening to catch when the swallowing stops. That way, I’m sure I don’t interrupt an actual feed. If I’m confident he’s just comfort sucking (after the 2nd let down), I gently unlatch him and give him a dummy :) If he’s hungry, he wakes up and starts rooting again, but usually, he just drifts off while sucking on the dummy :) x

My 9wk old ebf baby tends to do 10-15 mins on one side, and he rarely needs the other side when he takes himself off.
However, he feeds every 1-2 hours in the day and 2-3 through the night.
I do express a bottle for the evening around 8:30/9, (I try to get 120ml) I’ve found this helps the evenings when he used to feed for over an hour.

It's funny how different the HV are, mine said not to leave on after 30 mins because they're not feeding then, I do agree but tbh my nipples are still sore so I'm trying not to let him stay on too long as he'll start getting Aggy and mess about with them and pull away etc, I will take him off if he stops actively sucking, I am trying not to feed too much too but struggling with knowing his hunger cues now he's 12 weeks 🤦🏼♀️ it's all a minefield and you gotta do what feels right. My first always did 5 min feeds and he was fine so the length of feeding time isn't an issue as long as they're gaining etc 🥰
I know it’s ridiculous! I feel like I get better advice talking to other mums
I’m going alittle crazy! My ebf 11 week old for the past 3 weeks will only poop every 6 days. Brought it up to the pediatrician and I’ve done everything they told us to do. Bicycle kicks, tummy rubs, rectal temp check, warm baths and even a suppository. He is very low on the percentile like 9% so I feel like he isn’t holding on to the milk and about day 4 he is so uncomfortable. We took him to the ER Saturday and they did a xray and just told us he had gas. Went to a follow-up peds appointment and they started him on liquid Pepcid due to possible silent reflux. He burps & farts during/ after feeds. We give mylicon or gripe water for the gas discomfort which helps sometimes. I have a feeling this isn’t normal especially when he used to poop everyday.
Pic so we don’t get lost

I’m really not interested at all 8 weeks post partum and my husband has been asking. I had a traumatic birth with forceps, an episiotomy and a small tear in vagina. We didn’t really have sex during pregnancy and that was fine as we were both a little weirded out by it!
I just wanted to check if others have felt the same!

Curious what everyone is planning to do with their placenta after birth. Has anyone tried encapsulation, or is anyone considering it?
I’ve been looking into the process and would love to hear real experiences, good or bad. Is it worth it?
