My 5-month-old has basically refused my right breast since he was about 8 weeks old. Took me a while to work out the pattern.
He gets upset as soon as I put him in position on that side ā even before heās latched. Itās like heās already decided he doesnāt want it. Iāve tried different holds (including rugby), dark room, etc. He will take it when heās calm or in the middle of the night, but during the day itās a battle.
The right side does tend to get quite full and has a stronger let-down, but I donāt even know if thatās the cause or just because he avoids it.
He feeds better on the left (though can still be a bit fussy in general). Heās gaining weight fine.
Has anyone else had this go on for months rather than just a phase?
Did it resolve?
Did you just become a one-boob feeder? š
Would love to know Iām not the only one dealing with this!

My almost five month old has suddenly decided sheās not a fan of lefty š
Sheās always preferred righty, but would usually take the left if offered without too much drama. This past week though, sheās been fussing every single time I try.
So not exactly the same as your situation, but definitely similar, how bizarre?!

When I was breastfeeding I had this, but funnily not bottle fed and she's the same. Outrageous if you try and feed her one side, perfectly fine the other.
They are funny creatures aren't they?

Samee! My first born did the same so I am guessing the let down and the flow is just too much on one more than the other

Consider seeing an osteopath, sometimes the issue is in their body. I had a similar thing with my baby and turns out he was stiff and holding tension on one side which after three sessions he was a completely different baby and resolved the issue

I think I will be going through this very soon lol.

Experiencing the same at the start of our breastfeeding journey baby wouldnāt feed on my right but now thatās the only side heāll feed on x

Yes Iām in a patch of this too- I joke one side is strawberry milk and the other is chocolateš tends to happen the most when sheās tired
Hi,
Iām really stressed because my mum is telling me not to get my child vaccinated with the 1 year jabs. My baby has already had the first 3 jabs but sheās really trying to get me to not get him vaccinated. I would like real opinions please. Has anyone here not had their baby jabbed? Please donāt think Iām silly for writing this, first time mum here so everything is so scary and new. Thank you!

Someone please help me with some advice because Iām losing my absolute mind š
Baby is 5 months old, she has changed a lot in personality over the last month, more needy, sleep changes etc but have put it down to the 4 month regression and teething.
However, the problem that makes me want to literally cry is the car seat! She is totally inconsolable now every time sheās in the car. Why? And what can I do to help it?!

Everything is stress induced anymore
My daughter has this ongoing diarrhea for 2 weeks now and Iāve gotten no sleep from it, I now have a canker sore from it, my acid reflux has more flare ups than ever. I donāt like having sex anymore (I love my partner and I still find him very attractive). Im way too overly touched (by the baby, by the dog and by him). Im 10m pp and I havenāt been able to wear a dang tampon! I donāt do pads because they are just not for me so I wear a diaper.
Please tell me if you relate to any of this at all? Or if Iām just crazy

My baby has a really awful latch and breastfeeding can be quite uncomfortable. Iāve had help from the infant feeding team and itās improved but still not great. He doesnāt have a tongue tie.
I think he swallows down a lot of air, he always has trapped wind and an uncomfortable tummy, he fusses and grunts all night long, never burps after feeds. Heās always congested and has hiccups all the time.
I have a fast letdown so I think that also contributes. Iām really really considering switching to formula but the guilt that comes alongside that is killing me.
My eldest was breastfed for 8 months so I feel so shameful considering quitting at just 4 weeks with second baby. I also feel a huge responsibility to keep breastfeeding through winter for the immune system and health benefits.
Iām just really not enjoying breastfeeding this time and itās making me miserable.
Any tips?
