My baby has a really awful latch and breastfeeding can be quite uncomfortable. I’ve had help from the infant feeding team and it’s improved but still not great. He doesn’t have a tongue tie.
I think he swallows down a lot of air, he always has trapped wind and an uncomfortable tummy, he fusses and grunts all night long, never burps after feeds. He’s always congested and has hiccups all the time.
I have a fast letdown so I think that also contributes. I’m really really considering switching to formula but the guilt that comes alongside that is killing me.
My eldest was breastfed for 8 months so I feel so shameful considering quitting at just 4 weeks with second baby. I also feel a huge responsibility to keep breastfeeding through winter for the immune system and health benefits.
I’m just really not enjoying breastfeeding this time and it’s making me miserable.
Any tips?

I’m having the same
Problem. My nipples has sore on them
Now….. I’m just thinking of buying nipple shield for breastfeeding or pumping into bottles directly. I really wanna breastfeed my little girl so bad it makes me so sad…. I’m a FTM

We had to combo feed as I was having problems with my milk supply from birth. LO also had a tongue tie, which contributed latch lroblems alongside. He's had the tongue split, but we're still having issues. I've felt so guilty giving him bottles since week 1, but ultimately, he doesn't care as long as he gets fed. Could you try pumping as well as give formula? At least he's still then getting the health benefits from breastfeeding.
If not, I saw a comment on a instagram reel yesterday that marks pretty true: "Whether they are breastfed or formula fed, they still end up begging for a mcdonalds in the end"

I had similar and he was so hungry I wasnt producing what he wanted, tried power pumping and expressing instead to give my breast some help….it was really getting to me I was going to try combo feeding but this weekend after 4 weeks of breastfeeding, we decided that formula is what we are going to do because he is happier and so was I. Modern life and stresses don’t help breastfeeding at all so do what you can but don’t apply pressure on yourself xx

Im a FTM and I stopped after 3 days as I was really struggling. I feel awful about going purely bottle as I wanted to breastfeed so bad but as long as hes fed thats the best we can do xx

Dont feel guilty! You have to do whats right for you. I only BF my first for 3-4 days as it just wasnt working and she and I were both miserable, formula was a game changer for her. She has always been extremely happy and healthy! She is now almost 3. No one would know if she was BF or FF. My second is 3 weeks and BF and its so so hard, I am taking it day by day but wont have any guilt if we need to switch! The most important thing a baby needs is a happy mummy ❤️

Have the infant feeding team gone through positioning advice with you? Feeding reclined, side lying etc?
Hand expressing a few mins before latching to allow the fast let down to pass etc.
I have an oversupply and a very fast let down so I'm also having to juggle around to help baby feed. I had the exact same issue with my first but she had a tongue tie, a high palate, bowel issues among other things which complicated matters more but I successfully breast fed her until she was 2.5yrs old
It can be done. I was adamant I wanted to keep BF and didn't want to give formula and that'swhy I persevered as emotionally that was right for me. But don't make yourself poorly by stressing yourself out, you have to do what is right for you as well xx

I don’t want to receive any flak for this: but when I was struggling so hard with breastfeeding, another mom told me this: fed is fed. Of course we want to breast feed as long as we can; but sometimes it’s just not the reality of it. And all that matters is our babies are getting nutrients and being fed. Whether that’s other people’s breastmilk, or formula. You have to do what’s best for you and your LO!!

Im in the exact same position.. my girl is 4wks tomorrow and she had a terrible latch.. someone on here recommended nipple sheids and I bought them, now she latches every time.. she is super windy all the time n scrunches n grunts.. my midwife just said it's an immature tum, I bought gripe water which helps her a lot but honestly I think she might have silent reflux.. she also gets congested when feeding, i bought her a saline nasal spray but haven't used it yet.. one thing at a time I guess

Don’t feel guilty. Fed is best. And a baby needs a happy Mummy more than they need breastmilk over formula. X
We’ve recently moved our toddler to a single bed with a duvet for the first time. She’s manages to stay under the duvet for the first 4 hours then doesn’t have the duvet on. Currently she’s at the other end, on top of the duvet.
Will she eventually stay under?

Hi,
I’m really stressed because my mum is telling me not to get my child vaccinated with the 1 year jabs. My baby has already had the first 3 jabs but she’s really trying to get me to not get him vaccinated. I would like real opinions please. Has anyone here not had their baby jabbed? Please don’t think I’m silly for writing this, first time mum here so everything is so scary and new. Thank you!

Everything is stress induced anymore
My daughter has this ongoing diarrhea for 2 weeks now and I’ve gotten no sleep from it, I now have a canker sore from it, my acid reflux has more flare ups than ever. I don’t like having sex anymore (I love my partner and I still find him very attractive). Im way too overly touched (by the baby, by the dog and by him). Im 10m pp and I haven’t been able to wear a dang tampon! I don’t do pads because they are just not for me so I wear a diaper.
Please tell me if you relate to any of this at all? Or if I’m just crazy

Anyone else’s little one been hit by sleep regression like a ton of bricks? 🙃.
Baby girl was sleeping so well then this past week has been struggling, last night was WILD. We are currently running on caffeine and vibes 😅✌️.
We can do this mamas.

My baby just will not stay settled at night. Just gone 6 weeks old. I can transfer her from me to cot fine after a feed, then within 15mins she is fussing and unsettled, reflux, being sick, wakes herself up then is crying or wide awake. This goes on for 2hrs until she then starts fussing for a feed 2hrs after the last feed.
I literally cannot get any sleep
Seems thats everyone else's baby sleeps better. I have a 4 yr old and had horrendous sleep with him to for 2 yrs. Why is it happening to me again, I actually said I'd never have another child due to the such bad sleep if my 1st child, then convinced myself it'd be better 2nd time
..and its not proving that way. I cant catch a break 😥
Ive tried everything to make her settle and she wont
