How’s everyone coping with work?
I work as a nurse and I’ve just done three 12 hour shifts, off tomorrow then back for another two 12 hour shifts. Absolutely knackered and don’t know how long it’s feasible to continue 😳

WOW you are a superhero, i couldn't imagine doing a 12 hour shift right now!. I work in an industrial laundry and get 10 mins to sit down in a 6 hour shift and I'm struggling like crazyyyy. Where i do a lot of walking back and forth and pivots in the same 3x1 meter space I'm getting super dizzy/motion sick, and arms getting super tired because im constantly moving them to press and fold repeatedly for hours. But it is the ONLY job I can do due to chemicals or heavy lifting being the only other options. And I cannot afford to start my maternity leave any earlier already moved it to the 17th May (due 12th June). Looking at takes 2 weeks holiday before my mat leave now as well. I just want to be done 😴 it doesn't help my hormones are getting me frustrated so quickly and I work with my mum who isn't the nicest of people and 2 of my sisters who I don't always get on with (more than just 'sister squabbles' I promise) 😂

What a champ you are! I could not do 12hr shifts whilst pregnant. I used to work them as a mental health practitioner, but thankfully now have a job working in student wellbeing so much more flexible which has really helped me during my pregnancy

You're doing amazing! Weldone! I work as an optometrist, so I've been doing 8hrs, 5x a week and it's so exhausting especially on day 3 upwards.
I've had to reduce my hours from this week going up gradually till due date June 17th. By May I'll do 16hrs a week as my strength can go.
Review your work schedule if you need to. Weldone momma!

That’s so weird I’m also a nurse and work 12.5 hour shifts I’ve just done 3 days on have one off and back for 2😂 this is my third baby I have a 4 year old and just turned 2 year old I was thinking I was going to work until 38 weeks like previous times but I’m not so sure now 😅

I also do shift work and before I had my son it was hard I still did nights til the end too. This time I’m still exhausted but I’m part time and do set shifts so I don’t think it’s as bad. Check your maternity leave policy and what they base your maternity pay on if it’s past the point they count it for your pay maybe considering reducing your hours? Although obviously this will increase your monthly pay now x

I’m a self employed dog groomer, working long days 4 days a week. I feel ill at the end of the day I’m that tired 😴

I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm a carer. I've just done 3, 12 hour shifts, off today and back in for another 3 😴 I'm absolutely knackered and with me not sleeping at the moment either 😴

The only thing I can say is listen to your body and give it what it needs.
Im a primary school teacher and was signed off a few weeks back firstly for rest but then had a few complications whilst off. By the time it would get to Wednesdays I was shattered. Had to spend the entire weekend basically doing nothing and sleeping to be ready for the next week. I’m due back next week and even bigger and tireder then before!
Xxx

Hey! Also a nurse here :) do you work for NHS? They should be accommodating if you’re feeling knackered or overworked to adjust your shift times if you mention it. Also, might be time to use that annual leave before maternity!

Shift work & full time is a killer especially when you already have a little one! I work for the amb service & it’s too dangerous to be front line so I am WFH at the moment doing something else which I am very grateful for as it’s so chilled.
Just remember to use up your annual leave before taking maternity leave & also that pregnancy related sickness does not count! Take some time off girl. You must be exhausted!
Has anyone had a c section scheduled, but then baby decided to come early? What happened then? Were they still able to do a c section?

I’m not usually one to be impatient and I do believe babies come when they’re ready (hence getting to 42+1 in my first pregnany).
However, I have a toddler and had a previous c-section. I’m scared about how continuing to get bigger will affect my scar / possibility of it rupturing.
I am booked for an elective section if baby is not here by next Monday - but I really would prefer a VBAC (for recovery with a toddler)
Did you do anything that you truly think helped bring on labour?

I am aware that the fear I am having is irrational but I am seeking similar stories and some re-assurance. I had a private scan which I thought was 9th week, it proved to be 13+3 weeks, despite rushing to book NHS appts, I missed the window for NT check against Down Syndrome. My blood test against the syndrome at 17 weeks came back low risk, my 20 week anomaly scan showed no concerns and everything is fine, including nuchal fold in norm. However, due to the fact I had no NT checked (I realised post private scan that it was just a basic one), I am kinda freaking out as I am 40, already feel guilty that I got my dates so wrong at the start, and the private examiner asked if I planned the blood tests which felt a bit odd. It might have been just a routine question, however it's stuck with me. Any similar stories? With happy ending of course 🙈😅

Hi all,
Had my 28 week scan and baby was measuring 67th percentile overall, but head at 97th percentile.
Freaking out that something is wrong with their brain and have to wait until Thursday for my 32 week growth scan.
Had a loss at 24 weeks last year and don't think I could cope with more bad news :(

Walked 15k steps today trying to get this baby out, any chance this has worked for other people?😂

Hey! Just been diagnosed with GD, I’m not sure how I feel about it other than trying my best not to overthink! Does anyone have any tips or has anyone else had GD? 🩷
