What's everyone doing for meal prep or plans once baby comes, that's not defrosting batch cooked meals? My appetite seems picky at the moment and defrosting, reheating frozen food doesn't seem so appealing to me, especially if we need to eat the same meals for a few meals. I was looking at fresh meals being delivered or maybe we can make simpler meals. A freshly made sandwich sounds more appetizing than a defrosted meal but maybe when baby comes we would both be too tired to really think about enjoying food...

Im planning to use my slow cooker to make some dinners without the fusst too & will probably live of convenience food and handy meals for the first couple of weeks!
we lived off far too many takeaways after our first and i don't want to do that this time!!
Im a bit the same with frozen batch cooking id end up not using the half of itš

Jacket potatoās š

Soups, bread, cheese have been great. Easy to make a soup but also the one in the shops are pretty good too.

Dump bags prepped for the slow cooker āŗļø

Second the dump bags, although they are frozen and need defrosting it doesn't involve any cooking prior to freezing and can just whack it in the slow cooker and forget about it for a few hours x

Ive been worrird about this too as have experienced nausea throughout my pregnancy. I decided to do some batch cooking but also make a list of quick meals such as jacket potatos, beans on toast, pasta and sauce, fritata, omlette, ready meals we like etc. for when i fancy something plainer. I thought it would be good to have a 'menu' to choose from for the days we want something fresh but quick, rather than having to think about our options. Not sure if youve ever used HelloFresh but they have some very good 20 min meal recipes x
On Instagram your seeing all these post about husbands doing all the cooking, cleaning, food shop and looking after the other kids and allowing you to sleep, rest and focus on caring for the new baby..
Is this even possible. My husband helps but im still doing everything like usual. Im cooking all our meals, mowed the garden yesterday, hoover daily wash and hang the clothes outside. He is making our toddlers packed lunch for nursery and does the food shop but other than that everything is our usual. I havent had this waited on hand and food situation I see on socials š¤£š

Having to ask permission from my partner to go have a bath on a Sunday is insane. Yet he walks out the house when he likes to go smoke or plays on his laptop when he likes without a care in the world.
Told him to put the baby on the playmat so he can kick around his answer well all he does is cry and I hate the sound of him crying. Itās consumingā¦

So both me and my husband had our friends round last night for a few drinks, Iāve been feeling unwell for a few days but just powered on like I do everytime I feel a bit rough.
Today Iāve woken up really unwell high fever, being sick, hot and cold shivers and a swollen throat. I was up with my son 2.5 years old from 6am and I let my husband lie in he came out around 930am and I then took myself back to bed as Iām crying feeling so unwell. All I can hear is him saying to my son go find mummy Iāve just looked in the room and heās lying on the sofa falling asleep whilst my son sits with him just watching tv. I know my son is going to be a nightmare later as heās not bothered to give my son a nap. But heās just lying there either on his phone or closing his eyes.
I feel so unwell I havenāt got it in me to go in and just take my son and sort everything myself. When my husband is unwell I make sure I do everything and give him a break. He goes off to play golf every weekend for around 8 hours Iām always with my son and I donāt get a break . I do everything with my son but he makes out heās amazing and does so much with him. I think heās only ever taken him out on his own twice in his life Iām always there to organise and do everything

Couple months ago my baby dad went out he said he wouldnāt be back late and I told him not to do drugs as I donāt like it and we have a family anyway he didnāt come home till the next day as he was going drugs till silly oāclock in the morning. I had a discussion with him about it saying it upsets me etc saying sorry I wonāt do it aged then another couple he did the exact same thing again
On Friday night he went out for a couple hours then came home at 12 in the morning on drugs yet again and somehow itās all my fault itās me doing wrong he doesnāt see the wrong in his actions and that heās hurting me doing it.
Am I over reacting or have I a right ?
He doesnāt help me with our baby at all
Yesterday he spent all day in bed didnāt come see our daughter never mind me .
I put my all into been a mum donāt get help and just get walked all over I donāt know how much I can take i rlly love him and I donāt want a broken family but heās hurting me doing this all the time l.

I am confused as to how there are so many parents letting there little ones play games rated for kids twice their age. Does it not concern you how this will affect your kiddo long term? What is it doing to their development?
