On Instagram your seeing all these post about husbands doing all the cooking, cleaning, food shop and looking after the other kids and allowing you to sleep, rest and focus on caring for the new baby..
Is this even possible. My husband helps but im still doing everything like usual. Im cooking all our meals, mowed the garden yesterday, hoover daily wash and hang the clothes outside. He is making our toddlers packed lunch for nursery and does the food shop but other than that everything is our usual. I havent had this waited on hand and food situation I see on socials 🤣😅😬

My husband did it all the first few weeks and then I noticed it fell to me for a few weeks. I noticed and started to resent him a little but I communicated it and he agreed and we’re back to him helping.

My partner did the first week, but I had quite an uncomplicated and painless recovery so I think he just assumed I didn’t need to be waited on, looking back I would’ve loved the treatment it’s still as important even when you are fine and don’t have a hard recovery. Now we’re back to usual, I cook, clean etc mostly and take care of the baby. He goes to work and gives her a bath and puts her to sleep. I started to resent him for it, but we’ve now found a bit of a common ground x
Well my baby is 2 weeks and 3 days old and ive been doing majority. I know everyone's exhausted threshold is different but he is always saying hes tired and hes struggling. Our toddler is waking up frequently at night since bringing baby home so hes up at least twice overnight but im up every 3 hours and then still up for the whole day doing the above chores. He does actually look completely run down so I feel bad for getting angry that hes not at my energy level but also im like get over it and get on with it.

My husband is struggling to bond with our baby (c section 2 weeks ago) so I do the majority of the care but he sorts the dogs out, mows the grass, all the food cooking and household bits. He cleans as he goes and joins in on the weekly deep clean with me. The only care he does for the baby is the bath (but I dress him as our baby is calmer with me), feed if I’m busy and change nappy if I’m busy otherwise the feed and changing is on me. Otherwise all I do is join the dog walks, washing up when I have time & washing clothes - It works for us and as long as it works for you :) if not, I’d communicate with him about what you need without just comparing to snippets of other people’s lives

My husband does the cleaning at the weekend and cooks most nights. Although he did this before baby too. He also does most nappies when he is home and gets up in the night with baby.

My partner is amazing with every 'task'. He isn't very good at looking after our daughter when there's nothing to 'do', but every nappy, every meal, every bath time etc, he doesn't need to be told, he just does it! I do night shifts, he does morning shifts and I genuinely get such a good lie in because he is such a capable dad. Our daughter is 15 months old and our next is due next week. I also broke my ankle whilst being pregnant and he didn't complain once! Just did everything! I feel really lucky

while we were both on parental leave, he noticed me struggling and insisted from there forward i sleep through the night. from about five weeks onwards he's done every change, every feed, every night so i can get sleep. he also makes all the meals for the family, does the dishes, and deals with the rubbish

My husband and I have always done 50/50 of the cooking as we both enjoy it. He does also tidy up every morning before he goes to work. My first child was a very easy labour and recovery luckily and he only had 1 week of work as he is self employed, our second was an emergency CS and he had 2 weeks off but did get up with our eldest every morning whilst I slept. However, I do all the night feeds and did with both of them mainly and also do all the cooking and washing (but that’s mainly because I am particular about how I like it done).
I'm 3 months postpartum and my partner expects me to spend more time with his family when he's not there because he's working.
There have been comments made from his mum to him and then passed on to me that they expected me to make more of an effort with them. Honestly, it's overwhelming and added pressure and awkwardness. I get on with them fine but the relationship feels forced and they are coming to see the baby and not for me, am I wrong for not wanting this? My partner and i had a argument because he doesnt understand how its fine for my family to visit, i tried to explain the dynamics are different and as much as my family want to see the baby they come to visit to check in and give support to me! Has anyone else dealt with these expectations, and how did you handle it?
I now feel awkward, pressured and alot of guilt on my shoulders because they're 'not seeing the baby enough to bond'. Now cant get it out of my mind and want to see if I am in the wrong for not wanting them over much and prefer to keep it to when my partner is around.

I’m really struggling what to do I need advice or someone to talk to it’s killing me.
Couple months ago my baby dad went out he said he wouldn’t be back late and I told him not to do drugs as I don’t like it and we have a family anyway he didn’t come home till the next day as he was going drugs till silly o’clock in the morning. I had a discussion with him about it saying it upsets me etc saying sorry I won’t do it aged then another couple he did the exact same thing again
On Friday night he went out for a couple hours then came home at 12 in the morning on drugs yet again and somehow it’s all my fault it’s me doing wrong he doesn’t see the wrong in his actions and that he’s hurting me doing it.
Am I over reacting or have I a right ?
He doesn’t help me with our baby at all
Yesterday he spent all day in bed didn’t come see our daughter never mind me .
I put my all into been a mum don’t get help and just get walked all over I don’t know how much I can take i rlly love him and I don’t want a broken family but he’s hurting me doing this all the time l.
His doing but I’m gonna have to be the one who says sorry and try sort it out

I am confused as to how there are so many parents letting there little ones play games rated for kids twice their age. Does it not concern you how this will affect your kiddo long term? What is it doing to their development?

Having to ask permission from my partner to go have a bath on a Sunday is insane. Yet he walks out the house when he likes to go smoke or plays on his laptop when he likes without a care in the world.
Told him to put the baby on the playmat so he can kick around his answer well all he does is cry and I hate the sound of him crying. It’s consuming…
Bear in mind football is on at 4:30pm and I’m gonna have to cook dinner and do bedtime routine.
Sorry just need a rant.
