HELP! One of my aversions is my toddler 😭

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with my second and have been absolutely plagued with all day nausea. I ended up being placed on meds because I couldn't keep food or water down and that's helped but I'm still struggling with aversions to pretty much every food except crackers. One of my worst aversions is the smell of my daughter 😭 It's not like she stinks or anything, I just can't stand the smell of her natural aroma right now and it's breaking my heart. All she wants to do is cuddle and sit next to me but every time she gets close, I start gagging. Has anyone else had this happen and any suggestions on how to make it better? I'm used to smothering her in cuddles and kisses and it's killing me that I can't do that right now.

When I was pregnant, could only eat potatoes in their various forms. Even oranges would come back up. I couldn't go shopping as I could smell the detergent isle a mile away and it would make me ill and we kept the windows closed, so I couldn't smell the meat on the neighbour's BBQ. I survived by constantly chewing spearmint gum. Peppermint was too strong for me.

😭 im so sorry but don’t feel bad, your senses change while pregnant. Im sure after you’ll be able to cuddle baby again.
When I was pregnant, I wasn’t able to smell chicken at all. The whole house was on lockdown no chicken, three years later and I’m fine. I could totally eat and smell chicken now.. It won’t last forever.

Do you stick to the 30 minute car seat advice ?

We live in a small village and the 2 nearest cities are around 45 minutes from us. Seems silly to get the baby out for the sake of 15 minutes

Stepkids (12F, 17M) hating the new pregnancy.. how to handle?

Hey everyone, looking for advice on navigating some tough stepfamily dynamics.

My partner and I have been together for a while. There was a lot of drama with his ex at the beginning, so the kids didn't like me initially. I get why the transition was hard, but we're running into a wall now that I gave birth.

The 12-year-old daughter has been super moody and upset about the pregnancy, especially stressing over whether it's a girl (we waited till I gave birth to find out the gender). On a recent FaceTime (which included the ex and the 17yo son), she literally sat in the background the whole time texting, ignoring us completely.

It really unsettled me especially the thought of her resentment if I had a daughter. I gave birth to a baby boy but still.

How do you guys handle stepkids who are openly resentful about a new baby, and how do you set boundaries with FaceTime calls when the ex is involved? Any advice is appreciated!

Getting angry

So recently my 2 year old has learned that he gets mad/ frustrated . Some girl took the ball from him like 2 times and the 3rd time he got mad and kinda growled but like when you’re mad. Then I bought him Legos and he’s learning some pieces are hard to stick together well he built a tower and screamed I’m mad right now ! And I told him it’s ok take a deep breath and let’s pick them up. And I just started reading tiny humans big emotions. Now I guess I better hurry up but for now how do you guys handle situations like these especially in public I know it starts at home but I need advice for both just so I don’t tell him the wrong thing and make him feel like he can’t cry or have feelings

Looking for support

Last night was one of the most frightening and emotionally overwhelming nights I’ve experienced in a long time, and I’m honestly not sure what to do.

Baby boy changes clothes 😳

Just fully changed vest and pjs number 4 or 5 in 24 hours oh myyyyyy. Between sneaky pees while changing nappy, poop or pee leak, and spit ups my washing is crazy! Usually 2 sleeping bags and at least 1 new sheet per each night also due to spit ups in bed 😖😖😖 ps spit ups are small but somehow with angle he soaks his whole arm so I have no choice… And of course they HATE the changing and scream!
