My little girl who is 4 suffers quite badly with what we believe to be vulvitus. Typically speaking one a month she will wake up not long after going to bed crying in pain that her noonoo hurts inside. This will last hours.
We avoid bubble bath and only use non bio as we know she is affected by this.
Has anybody got any experience with this and can recommend any good soap substitutes they use or any tips for dealing with a flare up?

My daughter also gets these symptoms. We don’t use soap at all, just bathe in ground up oats. And cotton only knickers/ tights/leggings etc. if she’s dirty we use natural soap Nothing off the retail shelves.
I’ve not know it to be called vulvitus- I thought it was a yeast issue. She was given cortisol cream & anti fungal mix once before from doc. It’s so horrible to see the amount of pain isn’t it:( i remember having these issues as a
Child too

I know with little kids, especially girls, if they don't wipe properly or wipe back to front etc they can get this too.
Is it worth giving her a small back of wetwipes or ask teachers at nursery etc to not just wipe with toilet paper but also with a wetwipe. Make sure all is properly clean every time.

We’ve always used ‘Moo Goo Natural 2-in-1 Bubbly Wash’ - you can only get it from the MooGoo website but their products are great. This doesn’t contain any sls or soap (we also use their shampoo for my daughter (kids version) and myself as I get a really sensitive scalp!). We make sure my daughter goes to bed without any pj bottoms on so everything can ‘breathe’. Our consultant (not for this issue) mentioned not wearing tight leggings/tights when we mentioned this to her, along with what other people have mentioned re. cotton pants. I think the issue can be quite common in young girls, but its still awful to see them get so distressed x
