The best data on this suggests you don't actually need to worry! If you're managing to actually get some sleep on the other side then that's great 🄰

Yeah the left side thing is outdated advice now, but it’s still repeated everywhere! Either side is great. Even if you end up on your back, don’t stress. The advice to avoid lying on your back is kinda theoretical and based on reducing risk of reduced circulation if you’re there for ages, it doesn’t mean any harm will happen if you lie on your back for a bit. The body is clever and has built in reserves too

I often end up on my back in my sleep so put a pillow behind my back so it’s kind of a 45 degree compromise and drop my knees to one side (pillow between knees too), that way the bump is kinda to the side. So the theoretical idea the bump might squish the circulation getting to it isn’t a problem as it’s kinda off to the side but I’m not fully side lying. Gives more options for sleep.

I still end up tossing and turning a lot to get comfy too. Good luck finding some more positions!

Any side is fine, have you got a pregnancy pillow? I don’t think I’d be able to sleep without one now x

Wouldn’t worry about it yes left side is considered better but either side is absolutely fine .
I never sleep on my left side , I always go bed and sleep on my right side because the right side of my belly pulls a lot more than my left as that’s where more of the weight is I physically cannot lie on my left.
Sometimes I even end up waking on my back or almost fully on my belly , it really doesn’t matter , your body will wake up if you need to move for whatever reason. Just take any sleep as a win before you start to struggle (trust me I know I’ve been getting 30-60 mins a night šŸ¤£šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø)

I sleep on either side, find it best to shove a pillow up my back to stop me rolling on my back but I’ve been told either side is fine xx

I sleep on either side but somehow end up on my back every night. It’s weird because pre pregnancy I could never sleep on my back! I don’t know why it keeps happening now. It didn’t happen in my first pregnancy

I just sleep how I want still lol šŸ˜‚

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🄺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🄲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🄰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
