Which induction method??

Im at the hospital now for induction and dont know which method to go for.
I initially didnt want the balloon because the sweeps really hurt me and I feel it will be most uncomfortable but seems like the highest success rate? And no hormones.

What has everyone else done and recommend?

Do you get a choice? Our local hospital has a set policy on what order they will go on based on the medical requirement for an induction ☺️

Ah yeah the midwife said its up to me and given me some pamphlets but the balloon is clearly their preferred method as have like a 4 page document with the pros and cons and the gel and pessary is just wrapped up in 2 paragraphs in far less detail

Just want whatever quickest !! But of course no way to know

They are going to to a vaginal examination soon so I guess depending on how far dialated I am, I may make my descion based on that

Is there a medical reason for the induction? At our local one if you aren’t very dilated then they go for propess pessary and then only after that if it doesn’t work will they go for the prostin. I don’t believe the balloon is even considered until further down the line!

I did ghe picotin drip and have no regrets the midwife was able to turn it down when it got too intense. I also had an epidural with it x

Overwhelmed!

I’m due in June with my first baby, we started saving money before I found out I was pregnant and have continued to save money however, as we’ve needed to buy lots of baby stuff, decorate her room etc, we’ve not been saving no where near as much so obviously our total amount of savings hasn’t been going up as much as we like.

We’ve just had our renewal for some bills like council tax (which has gone up) etc. I just feel really deflated and thinking how on earth are we going to survive when I’m on maternity pay 😕

I know everything will be okay but it’s just really got to me today.

Did anyone else feel like this? Was there any help or things you did to make it easier?

Baby boy is officially here 💖

Born yesterday at 39 weeks. A very fast labour. Woke up at 2.30am on the 16th to my waters leaking, contractions didn’t start till 4am and then I was 2cm dilated, at 10am my contractions were strong enough where I couldn’t talk but was only 3cm so had a sweep and was admitted into the birthing centre. By 3pm baby boy was born in the pool 💖 had a bad 2 degree internal tear but I’m so so happy I can stop looking at him

Consultant booked c section for 39+4?!

Is this normal? I recently moved house so all my care was under a different hospital who advised thinking about a section after my last birth was awful with lots of complications and ended up in theatre anyway. I chose this and was told it would be at 38 weeks, also having issues with my heart, high blood pressure and preeclampsia symptoms again. But this new consultant would only book it for then but it makes me so anxious how close that is to my due date?? Is this normal?

Growth Scan

I have a growth scan today because my fundal height measurement has stayed the same at 29cm from when I was 28+5 weeks. Now I'm 32+3. Has anyone else experienced this? It has made my growth chart go from just under 90th percentile to under 10th.
