My 4 year old has a friend in reception who is 5 already and has parents who work ALOT and they rely on the good ole iPad babysitter. Worse than this, she has unfettered access to YouTube Kids and god knows what else on there.
I do not and will never agree to giving a 4/5 year old their own iPad let alone letting them have free rein on it.
I wouldn’t let my daughter watch K Pop Demon Hunters as it’s inappropriate for her age group. I told the mum this too to just stick to Disney movies during play dates. But my daughter came back one day and said she’d watched it on her friend’s iPad so I guess the mum had no idea. I absolutely did not agree to letting her watch that and I’m disappointed to say the least.
How do I deal with this situation? I don’t want my daughter to not be friends with this girl but if I keep confronting the mum, she’s going to think I’m calling her a bad parent and it might all blow up. Am I overreacting?

I would refrain from my side sadly, rather than confronting. I wouldn’t let my son go to any other play date where I know kids are not watched properly or watched by a parent that not share my same views. I can imagine how frustrating this must have been!
