I shot up at 4am last night and had the urge to check my little boy who sleeps in a cot next to our bed.
For the first time he has rolled over and was sleeping on his stomach, my heart dropped.
I was so scared that I picked him up to make sure he was okay and he was just sound asleep…
What are we supposed to do if they roll over in their sleep?! He’s almost 6 months old and I’m prettified of him rolling and it being a different outcome if I don’t wake up..
Just need some peace of mind that this is
okay?

I've heard you're just supposed to put them back on their back. Also, if you still swaddle, stop. If they roll, there's really not much else you can do. I am also really worried about this.

Can he roll both ways? If so, then you can just leave them!

Put them on their back to start with, but once they roll themselves they likely have the head control to find a comfortable position and can turn their own head. As long as there is no loose bedding and their arms aren't swaddled they can stay on their front. If you notice in the night you can flip them back over, but generally once they realise they can do it, its a losing battle. Lots of tummy time to help strengthen rolling both ways.

If they can roll by themselves then you just leave them. Both my boys are tummy sleepers, don’t stress 😊

I got a sense u so I can be notified if my baby does roll and for peace of mind

My Pediatrician told me to try to get them on there back and if they roll over again just leave them alone, as long as their face isn’t straight down and nothing is in the bed with them they will be fine.
