I talked to another mom who said both of her daughters stopped taking a nap at 18 months old so now I'm wondering if I should just use this sleep regression to my advantage and cut my son's nap out now.. he does okay-ish.. he starts getting tired by 4:30-5pm and that's when we eat dinner, we pick up our toys, get in the bath, and then get in bed by 7pm. Is this okay?

Developmentally, naps are still very beneficial at this age. Most kids will stop needing them between ages 3 and 5. If he's getting tired between 4:30 and 5, but doesn't go to bed until 7, I personally think that's too long of a wait and feel like he would be overly tired by bedtime, which could result in difficulty putting him down and/or poor sleep quality during the night. Are you just having a hard time putting him down for nap?

Oh wow okay! That does sound like he might be ready for no naps then. If it's something that works for you guys then, it definitely doesn't hurt to keep doing it if you've already been doing it for 4 days! If that was my son, I'd probably just keep doing that honestly lol you could ask his pediatrician if they have any concerns about it, if you are worried. But fighting naps, and difficulty going to sleep at night when he takes one are both signs he might not need one.
