All or nothing baby!!

My second daughter is about to turn 17 months and since the day she arrived she’s either quiet and peaceful or full blown screaming. I don’t think I’ve ever in the history of time heard her just moan or whimper. There’s no simple cry she just cuts straight to atomic bomb level. Even just for a bottle when she was a new born, my first daughter used to stir first and then make little gruntty noises first before she’d let out a little “I’m hungry” cry. But not my second. She can go from being flat out asleep to red face crying.

It makes my anxiety go off the charts as I’m always trying to keep the peace because of how extreme things can turn. I get baby’s cry, obviously this is not my first baby, but I’ve never ever had a child like it. Even when I go into her room on a night to settle her she doesn’t stop the scream until she’s fully happy, there’s no simmering down or calming down. So I can be changing her nappy or giving her bottle with her blasting into my ears throughout the whole duration. Again with my first as long as I tended to her and got started with fixing what ever was wrong she’d start to calm down.

Has anyone else got a baby who’s always been like this and if so how did they turnout?

My LO isn't always like this by far. But he's just reach 4.5 months and his crying gets like this. I'm a FTM so it's very overstimulating and feels like a minefield trying to guess what's wrong🥲

Yes!!!!!! My son is my first, i thought it was normal. Then my sister looked after him one night (she has a 3 year old), she says she’s never known a baby like it, and it really caught her off guard. My BIL said his son never made his ears ring but mine did🤦🏼‍♀️ My biggest pet peeve is when people say just let him cry, because I physically cannot! The loudness of it sends me to 100 in seconds. My neighbour has been round to make sure everything is okay because his crying was sooooo bad, I was just changing his nappy. He immediately goes to a cry where he stops making noise, almost sick and can start hyperventilating. It’s so much to deal with - he’s not changed, but your child is slightly older than mine

Standing???

Anyone else’s 7 month old standing up and trying to take steps??? My son can fully stand without support and is now trying to take steps. I feel like it’s too early?…

Excuse the mess, I’m doing a late night deep clean and he’s doing the opposite of helping 😂

How much does your baby eat

Hello,

How much does your baby eat?

My boy is 4 months (17 + 5 weeks) and he weights 7kg (born 3.5kg)
Sometimes I have feeling he is eating too much…
From yesterday I had to start giving him more food as he started crying after food and asking for more. (100% formula)
He eats around 1.3L in 24 hours (6 feeds with 5 being during the day and 1 overnight) . On internet it says baby can eat 150-200ml per 1kg body weight so in theory my baby can eat max 1.4L so it would tell me he is not eating too much… just on higher end.
Then on internet it says baby shouldn’t eat more than 32oz (900ml) in 24 hours. So I’m a bit confused…

Cheap Car Seat

Hi all,

I need a cheap car seat for my mums car just for when she looks after my daughter incase she needs to pop out.

I ain’t particularly concerned over safety because it’s literally for emergencies only, as she plans everything around childcare - but I need something just incase she needs to go out.

Ideally looking for something under £80 - my daughters nearly 2 x

Not sleeping (i need help!)

I’m desperate! My 7 month old has been a terrible sleeper for a while but seems to be getting worse, he’s sleeping every 2/3hours throughout the night then taking over an hour to get back to sleep and I’ve tried everything to help him sleep longer throughout the night, I’ve extended his wake windows, offered him extra ounces of formula before sleep, we have a white noise machine, I’ve tried patting him, rocking him and even tried to techniques to help him self sooth and I even try co sleeping and nothing seems to be working that helps him sleep longer😩 And I’m starting to really struggle mental health wise as I’m not sleeping due to the constant wake ups! I need help I’m desperate 😩

Sleep struggle 5 month old

Hi, my baby is 5 months old and I’m really struggling with his sleep.
I understand that waking for feeds is normal, but he wakes up almost every hour. He usually goes to sleep around 8:00–9:00 pm and gives one longer stretch of about 2 hours. After that, the wake-ups become very frequent. For example, if he wakes around 1:00 am, he then starts waking every 1 to 1.5 hours.
Most of the time, he doesn’t even feed properly he just keeps the nipple in his mouth for comfort and falls back asleep.
I’m feeling extremely exhausted and sleep deprived. He is exclusively breastfed and does not accept a bottle at all.
I’m not sure how to manage this situation or how to break this pattern. Any advice would really help.
