Peppermint tea bags to ease the gas, and lactulose to help with the first poops. Start taking that a few days before your section.
High waisted PJs, or a night shirt even better.
Usual maternity adult nappies and / or pads.
Slippers / flip flops.

I quite liked the disposable underwear from Frida mom. They go well above your scar and help keep you feeling put together in the area when it can feel quite ‘loose’

I remember packing so much and I didn't use the majority of it 😂 literally just the bare minimum 😊

A couple of baby onesies
A few nappies
Muslin cloth
Comfy pj's for you
Dressing gown for getting out and about the room/ward.
Comfy leggings/joggers for going home.
Big comfy granny pants underwear!
Plenty of snacks & drinks! (Not until after c section 😉)

I was told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen alternating every 2 hours so that pain wasn't too bad. It worked wonders and helped with recovery!

I didn't bother to shower at the hospital - I just had one with the help of partner at home.

General anaesthetic c-section

Does anybody have experience of a c-section under general anaesthetic? I have been told I can not have an epidural due to some health problems and have been given the option of being put to sleep, I unsure of my other options than this or birth with gas and air until I see the anaesthetists 🥲

Early scans?

Hey girls! I am roughly 6 weeks pregnant and found out because I was having very bad cramps. I had a scan last week which showed gestational sac and this week a yolk sac inside but still no heartbeat. I have been discharged from epu until routine 12 week scan. I have a previous diagnosis of endometriosis so the cramps could be caused by this but am I right in saying with the cramping and pain I should be seen once more to confirm a heartbeat?

Recurring miscarriages and feeling so low

I’ve recently had a d&c, this will be my 5th miscarriage.

I’m feeling incredibly low and honestly the only reason I feel I’m here is for my toddler. He is the only thing that brings me any light at the moment.

I don’t feel that my best friend (who I’ve told about my miscarriages) is bothered in the slightest about me and feels as though I’m an effort to message or
Check in on.

I feel people don’t understand that one or two losses is upsetting as it is but 5 is really making me think how different my life is going to be compared to how I thought it would be.

My partners family haven’t bothered asking about me and my mum is supportive but just says it will happen when it does.

I get nobody can help but I feel like
I’m getting further and further into a dark hole and I don’t know what to do ☹️

Elective for first birth?

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and have known since before conception I wanted a c-section. I have only known friends who had traumatic natural births and do not want to risk the “worst of both worlds” with a traumatic natural birth and THEN emergency c-section anyway.
Has anyone else here done this, if so how did you go about telling your midwife, and friends?! I feel there’s so much judgement even though it is supposedly MY choice.
