I took my little boy into the doctors for a chest infection earlier and they said she concerned over his soft spot hasn't closed yet and is quite sunken.. but he's not dehydrated and putting on weight well, so have done some type of advice and guidance to paeds and said they may want to look at his brain/head or may be nothing, called a doctor in and he said he'd never seen anything like it even working in paeds, which has now made me worry. Anyone else had the same or similar?🥺😭

Is it the front one? Because the front soft spot closes between 9-12 months, so that part isnt a worry.
If its quite sunken it could just be how his skull is shaped thats causing the sunken look, pending he isnt dehydrated or lacking nutrients (deficiencies can cause a sunken fontanelle when baby is still hydrated).
I wouldnt be too concerned until theyve done some bloods and a scan tbh, babies are mysteries to all!x
it is the front and I thought it was the case as I had similar with my fist boy but was dehydrated from a sickness bug. He's not dehydrated, he's happy, alert, feeding well and wet/dirty nappies. That's helpful though than you!🤍 my head just went into a dark place of worry and panic. She said it might be his normal for him but I can't help but worry lol x

Its our job as parents to worry, and its a doctors job to be thorough with everything! I hope everythings okay hun ❤️

I'm not sure why they were worried about the soft spot not being closed as it's not meant to yet, as others have said above? If you have a picture of the soft spot / sunken-ness it may be helpful for context?
