No verbal communication at nursery

Our toddler speaks non stop at home with both myself and partner in two languages. She sings, counts, knows the colours, enjoys role playing and story time. At nursery however she does not communicate verbally and would only point or whisper. Staff say she understands everything and is confident but learns by observing. We have a plan in place with the nursery where they’re going to observe her and share insights with us soon. In the meantime, how do we provide her the support she needs?

It could just be that she’s shy around the staff and prefers not to speak x

How long has she been there?

She moved to this room 4 months ago, but during this period there has been a lot of staff turnover and they changed her key person a couple of times. I also gave birth to baby sister during this period, don’t know if it’s related

The biggest factors are her being bilingual and the new sib. Kids learning two languages often speak a bit later. It is not concerning developmentally speaking at 26 months.

Is she quiet in all social situations? My LO takes a while to warm up, even at nursery where he’s been going over a year now. And when we go out and about it’ll depend where and who with.

CPS?

Something’s wrong with me. My LG was wailing & crying & screaming & all I did was watch. Didn’t feel like picking her up to comfort her & still don’t.. should I just turn myself in?

Imposter Syndrome

Does anyone else feel like you have imposter syndrome being a mom?

I had my first a couple weeks before I turned 38 and I had already accepted I wouldn't have kids (not by choice).

I remember going to my appointments feeling like I wasn't as pregnant or really pregnant like the other patients in the lobby were. I often catch myself feeling like this isn't my life and I'm playing house my child. I love him so much, but I feel like this just isn't real. He's 15 months so I've had time to come to terms.

Has anyone else felt something like this? How did you get over it?

When to stop C curl and restricted blankets?

May be too soon but just out of interest. When is it safe to no longer sleep in C curl around baby/child? My girl is 10 months but very long and I can no longer do C curl well 😅. Plus her whole bottom half is past my waist now which is where I keep the blanket too.

Nap times

My baby girl is currently 14 weeks old and we have been struggling with naps for a while now. We manage to get her down a few times a day however she does not sleep longer than 30 min.. I know this is the length of a sleep cycle so it is normal but she l never seems to be fully rested especially in the afternoon. She often wakes up looking tired but refuses to go back to sleep, or if I hold her and rock her to sleep there is no way of putting her down again. The evenings are a battle because of it as she gets over tired. Any tips or advise on how to lengthen her naps?
