To Induce or Not To Induce?

Still waiting on my little boy whose EDD was 15th of March.

I'm now 42+1 and the pressure is starting to build to Induce. I have been planning for a home birth so really would rather avoid if possible but now considering inducing at the end of the week or just opting for elective C Section.

Pregnancy has been super straightforward for me, no sickness or issues at all so feels a shame to need to Induce or C-Sec now!

Still feeling well in myself and movements are good. Not really having any signs of labour besides loose poops for a couple of weeks and a couple of nights with intermittent cramping (after I'd probably overdone it a bit in the garden).

I hear so many horror stories for inducing hence considering the elective! Does anyone have any positive stories or can make me feel a bit braver about hanging on!

I was in labor from my induction for 36 hours and would not progress so I ended up doing a c section

I’d maybe ask midwife to see how dilated you are and go from there? If your cervix is favourable I’d say go for the c section as you may just need waters broken !

i have been induced in both my pregnancy, my second pregnancy i really didn’t want to be induced but i had no choice it was safer for me and the baby.
However my first induction was a long process- i was induced on a Thursday at midnight and my daughter was born via forceps early hours of the Sunday morning, i had a pessary for 24hrs with her, then my waters broken.
However with my second induction i was already 2cm so they could break my waters, so they were broken at 430am and my son was born at 12.18pm - and my active labour was only 2hrs!
So completely different experience.
Mine both were positive experiences, but the second was a lot better and has been a lot easier recovery too.
Happy to chat more if you want too.

Maybe consider having a chat with someone like kemibirthjoyjohnson as she can help you navigate your options during this time when pressure for an induction will only increase.

If you are feeling well in yourself and with baby I would personally wait. Do everything you love to get into your oxytocin boble and before you know it baby will be here. No one is pregnant forever. ☀️🫶🏼 you are almost there mama. - also due dates are just a made up thing anyway

Have you been offered any sweeps? That’s a form of induction but without the use of artificial hormones x

April 1st baby! 🩷

Baby Millie arrived 27th March by elective section weighing 7lb 11oz! 🩷 We are still in the hospital as she has jaundice so needed to go under the lamp. Hopefully we are ok to go home today 🤞
For anyone going for an elective section after a traumatic previous emergency section.. it was such a healing experience for me! I got to watch her come out and it was absolutely amazing.
Also for 2nd time Mum's.. your heart will literally double in size and any worries you had will soon disappear.
Good luck April Mamas ❤️

Low laying placenta?!

This is my 3rd pregnancy. I’ve already got low Papp-a and recently had a private scan where they noticed my placenta is low laying. Obviously will find out more at my 20 weeks nhs scan but does anyone have any positive stories regarding this?
Pic for attention💙

Second pregnancy in 40's

So I've just had my first baby at 38 (conceived at 37) and have recently turned 39. I will be going back to work at the end of the year but I need to return for at least one year before I can take mat leave with full benefits again.
This means I can look to get pregnant again no earlier than December but I will most likely be 40 when I hopefully conceive again. This isn't such a bad thing as it gives me time to recover from my c section but I am a little anxious.

Those of you who had a baby in their late 30s and then a second in your early 40s, was there much difference in how long it took you to get pregnant again?

I love my LG to bits and she is enough for me either way but I would love her to have at least one sibling.

My Valentines baby 💙🩷

6 weeks later and i'm finally posting to announce my little baby boy arrived on 14/02 weighing 7lb 8oz!
After a difficult pregnancy, 5 days of stop/start contractions and a very long active labour he made it into this world!
He's definitely completed our family and we've really settled into being a family of 4! Can confirm this is my last pregnancy🤣🤣🤣
