I had an emergency and delivered at 6am and was allowed to go home at 8pm if I wanted to. However I stayed the night just to ensure baby would latch etc x

I was in for 4 days due to complications with me and my son x

I had an elective c section in November 2025. I was discharged less than 24 hours after

You should be home the next day unless you have complications. I was kept in for 7 days due to high BP. Everyone else who had their elective sections the same day went home the day after.

The day after the c-section was.a day of feedback, checks on mum, checks on baby. It's quite a full on day.

I had a cat 1 emergency my daughter was born at 23:58pm o was discharged the next day at midnight so 24 hours but was only allowed to be discharged that quick if certain things were fine

I had the baby at 5pm and was home mid afternoon the next day

depends how it goes and how you are , i had an elective and stayed in 24 hours

I had a planned section on the 16th of march at 36+3 due to placenta previa. Baby was classed as pre term with it being before 37 weeks, she was completely fine no complications no NICU time or anything however due to pre term classification we had to stay 48-72 hours. Had her lunch time Monday got discharged 8:30pm Wednesday

I had an elective and was in there for 24 hours and then sent home x

I was in for 1 night but was allowed to stay for 2 . We just wanted to get home as we barely got any sleep due to distractions in the hospital e.g babies, snoring from other people, midwives coming in every hour. He was originally elective but ended up being a grade 3 emergency due to going into labour the day before and him already having had a poo

2 days for my first emergency, I had sepsis and they had to check my daughters infection markers. We only just got out because they came below the concern levels. Second was an emergency but elective. I just went into labour naturally before my planned date as he appeared 3 weeks early. We were in for 6 days, only because my son was in nicu. I reckon we’d have been discharged the following day (had him just before 11pm) if everything was ok x

Avatar

Emergency was a day and a half (because he was born at 2am) my second was planned and was in for 24 hours after birth, I would have been out sooner if discharge was faster!

Avatar

I had mine in June and was discharged 21 hours after baby was born. If there are any complications or you don't feel ready to go home you can be kept in longer though

Avatar

I was discharged about 18 hours after my surgery, section 10pm at night, was out by 3pm the next day x

Avatar

I had an emergency c section and was there for 3 nights. My recovery was initially slow x

Wow, I never know you can be discharged this early after c-section! I am in USA, I stayed most of my C-section at least 2 nights. I had two I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. 😂 I love the food they offered in recovery room. 😂

What age are you giving chocolate from and how often??

No judgement, I’m genuinely confused. I worry about sugar intake etc as grandparents both side have diabetes however I also know can’t cut it out completely or may overdo it when older. Wondering what age everyone began with chocolate etc

Honest truth about C sections

I am a first time mother having an elective c section. I’ve been told that it’s a shame I am doing an elective as thank God my baby is healthy. I need to know is a C section better than a birth? If you have had both please share your experience below !

Two parties on the same day, WWYD?

Our DS was invited to his nursery best friend's birthday party one month in advance, we immediately confirmed. The party is 2 to 4pm.

About a week later we got another party invite from some long time friends. The party is the same day but from 12 to 2pm on the opposite side of the city, so it will take a 40 minute drive to get from one to the other. This child used to be best friend but they haven't been available to meet for the last year, so I was thinking about skipping this party. However, my child keeps asking about them and it is possible for us to attend, just complicated. So thought I would go and leave early (stay for hour and a half instead of 2 hrs) and go to the other party around 10 mins late.

Is it too rude to leave the first party early? We are staying for most of it. Or is it better no just not go?

What would you do?

To Induce or Not To Induce?

Still waiting on my little boy whose EDD was 15th of March.

I'm now 42+1 and the pressure is starting to build to Induce. I have been planning for a home birth so really would rather avoid if possible but now considering inducing at the end of the week or just opting for elective C Section.

Pregnancy has been super straightforward for me, no sickness or issues at all so feels a shame to need to Induce or C-Sec now!

Still feeling well in myself and movements are good. Not really having any signs of labour besides loose poops for a couple of weeks and a couple of nights with intermittent cramping (after I'd probably overdone it a bit in the garden).

I hear so many horror stories for inducing hence considering the elective! Does anyone have any positive stories or can make me feel a bit braver about hanging on!
