I had a relatively normal vaginal delivery of my first baby 4 days ago. I have a second degree vaginal tear and I was pushing for just shy of 4 hours. My question is, how quickly did you start to notice healing after your vaginal delivery? I'm still in so much pain when walking, particularly up the stairs and I feel like there's so much swelling to the right of my vagina like in the soft tissue? Sitting down really hurts despite a 3-day course of ibuprofen pessaries. I just don't know if I should be doing something different to help healing/ seeking further medical advice or if this is all completely normal?

My tear wasn't as bad but I was on ibuprofen for a week where I kept such a close on on the time and took the next dose of pain meds the minute i could. I was in so much pain. The second week I still took meds every day but could go a few hours longer then the first week. Still very difficult. By week 3 I was at a rare occasion did I need them. Stoped bleeding at week 4. A week later had a few days of itchiness come back when the stitches were desolving but no pain, just used Peri bottle and whitch hazel again for 2/3 days.

Ice pack and whitch hazel helped so much. And warm baths to let muscles relax

The main thing to do is rest and not be standing too long. Padsicles can help.
It usually takes about 2-3weeks for significant relief but the real internal healing can take months but physically you will feel better. It’s a process, give yourself time and grace. There’s no race in healing!

My first delivery was same to you
It was a few months for me

I had 6 second degree tears. I’m now nearly 7 months pp and am finally starting to feel better. I worked with a pelvic floor physical therapist and it helped me so much. Take it really easy on walking.

I feel you ❤️
I was in a horrible pain for 6 months, went to a&e three times during this time as sometimes couldn't even walk, went to multiple doctors in the UK and including a private recognised in Spain an all of them kind of helped me to reduce the pain but the final solution just came with the time which is what they also suggested (of course the reason for the pain was that the stitches were poorly done). After that time the pain was manageable and I feel finally recovered after 1 year.
My recommendation is to go to the doctor's every time you have a feeling that something is not right, is better to get checked and it may be they may help you ease the pain plus it will help ease your mind that they have checked this and this will help you handle the pain better.🫂 Also remember to have compassion and kindness with yourself and your body and remember to love it, relax it and give it time, you just gave birth a new life! 🫂sending you hugs!
I know a lot of this is down to me spending too much time on social media or obsessing over what my friends managed to do for their babies, so I've started skipping all the baby content now but the damage is done. Baby is due in 3 weeks and I feel like my house is too small/cramped to give my baby everything I had hoped to.
I was hoping to have a nice big cot in our room but there's no space. We'll have to have a bassinet and then a mini cot.
Was hoping to have loads of floor space in our living room for playing, etc but no matter how much I move things around, it's just not enough..
I know the baby won't care, but I grew up in a very small cramped house and I always hoped I would be able to give my children better than what I had.
Been speaking to the perinatal mental health team and they are lovely, but I can't shift this feeling of not being good enough!
Any tips on how to keep myself positive?

My little one has started waking up with a dry nappy overnight, but then has a big wee after feeding. Is this normal, and do I need to be concerned? Would love to hear from you all.
She has lots of wet nappies through the day and is having plenty of her milk/bottle through the day. She is 5 and a half months old.
Thanks all

We have an almost 3 month (1 week away) and she sleeps in her snuzpod5. We keep finding her lying side ways int he night which doesn’t seem comfortable as her head is on the side and her feet are off the edge. She isn’t rolling yet any suggestions on whether she should move to a crib?
