Feeling down/not good enough

I know a lot of this is down to me spending too much time on social media or obsessing over what my friends managed to do for their babies, so I've started skipping all the baby content now but the damage is done. Baby is due in 3 weeks and I feel like my house is too small/cramped to give my baby everything I had hoped to.
I was hoping to have a nice big cot in our room but there's no space. We'll have to have a bassinet and then a mini cot.
Was hoping to have loads of floor space in our living room for playing, etc but no matter how much I move things around, it's just not enough..
I know the baby won't care, but I grew up in a very small cramped house and I always hoped I would be able to give my children better than what I had.

Been speaking to the perinatal mental health team and they are lovely, but I can't shift this feeling of not being good enough!

Any tips on how to keep myself positive?

I think its easy to look for all the things that are missing or not perfect. But in reality what you have is probably lovely and there will always he someone that is worse off than you. Try and think positive, there are mum to be’s that are staying with family and dont have a place of their own maybe reframe it in your mind and think of it that way??
Not really sure tbh but definitely try to look for the positives and dont buy info social media too much as photos can be edited and only show a small portion of the reality. Good luck. X

Do not read into what you see on social media. There are families that are just like you, myself included. Im in a small house - couldnt fit a next to be bed in my bedroom so got a full sized cot and sacrificed a wardrobe (and the clothes that went in it!) so that it would fit. Our downstairs is a small open plan living room and kitchen but I have enough floor space to put down an activity mat and do tummy time with my LO. We will eventually move to a bigger place but its just not possible right now with being on maternity pay and having savings to get us by towards the end. My home is small but it is safe and full of love. Me and my husband want to have another baby in the future (main reason of wanting to get somewhere bigger) but im loving and enjoying our bubble of 3 in our tiny house ❤️ your baby will not care about where they are, its who is with them that matters most 🫶 hope you feel better soon x

Honestly if you feel like this before baby arrives I would delete social media now -- it gets worse when baby arrives. Delete it and take this time for yourself, do things you wanna do, watch tv and movies etc. I deleted instagram during postpartum cuz it was telling me that my 8 week old should be sleeping like this, feeding like that, i should look like this etc you forget its not real life. Delete and be present in this time of your life x

Breast milk jewellery

Has anyone turned their breast milk into jewellery? I’ve seen ads for stores in Canada and the US but would love to know if anyone’s used a uk jeweller and
get some recommendations.

Are people still sleeping in the same room as their babies?

I know it’s a very personal choice and it’s recommended to until they’re at least 6 months old but our baby can definitely sense we’re in the room and overnight especially during their light sleep, I’m convinced I’m waking them up. Have you noticed any improvement to their sleep if you have decided to sleep independently?

Bedtime

What time are people putting their little one to bed for the night ? Struggling to know when to bring his bedtime earlier or if we should just go off the time that he wakes up from his last nap?
