Ftm here I’ve been co sleeping with my daughter since she was 6 weeks old she’s now nearly 6 months and refuses to sleep on her own for naps or in her next to me on a night, any advice?

I also co slept with mine until around 7.5 months and for my next I plan to sleep train with Ferber at 5-6 months. I tried every gentle way for 2 months until I couldn’t take the sleep deprivation anymore and went for it and she’s been sleeping great! Since she was closer to 9 months when we went full Ferber it was a lot more hard on both of us with her more cognitive (hence the plan to do it earlier for my second). sleep training is different from cio, but you don’t have to ofc, just thought I’d throw in the option

hello hello! we coslept since day 1 and bedshared from 4 months. at 6 months, i worked on practicing independent sleep at nap time. when i didn’t want to nap with her, i would lay with her to fall asleep then roll away, so i could get a half hour to myself. this also worked really well with the pack-n-play with a side that rolled down. once she got the hang of it, i could do the same at night and knew like clockwork when she’d wake up for her next feed.
i didn’t do any sleep training and at 18 months she told us she was ready to sleep in her own room and very easily made the switch. waiting until she was ready, supporting her sleep development and responding to her always at night really worked for us. she’s 3.5yo now and still a great sleeper

I chest slept with my little boy until 3.5 months and we contact napped every day but then he got too big and wriggly so I co slept with him after that. I did similar to Anne above and started putting him to sleep in my bed for naps, laying with him and then slowly moving away. Sometimes that got me 15 mins, sometimes 2 hours. But I kept trying and stuck with it for a couple of months. If he woke up quite quickly, I didn’t stress about it.
He’s now almost 7 months and has started going in his own room and he’s doing really well but I knew he was ready to do so.
Sometimes it can just be the temperament of the baby themselves too.
We’ve Co slept for two weeks tomorrow and ive managed to get him into his carrycot!! Feeling so happy cant wait for a bit of proper sleep tonight 🤣

I know it’s a very personal choice and it’s recommended to until they’re at least 6 months old but our baby can definitely sense we’re in the room and overnight especially during their light sleep, I’m convinced I’m waking them up. Have you noticed any improvement to their sleep if you have decided to sleep independently?

What time are people putting their little one to bed for the night ? Struggling to know when to bring his bedtime earlier or if we should just go off the time that he wakes up from his last nap?

I know a lot of this is down to me spending too much time on social media or obsessing over what my friends managed to do for their babies, so I've started skipping all the baby content now but the damage is done. Baby is due in 3 weeks and I feel like my house is too small/cramped to give my baby everything I had hoped to.
I was hoping to have a nice big cot in our room but there's no space. We'll have to have a bassinet and then a mini cot.
Was hoping to have loads of floor space in our living room for playing, etc but no matter how much I move things around, it's just not enough..
I know the baby won't care, but I grew up in a very small cramped house and I always hoped I would be able to give my children better than what I had.
Been speaking to the perinatal mental health team and they are lovely, but I can't shift this feeling of not being good enough!
Any tips on how to keep myself positive?
