Baby Measuring Small

Hey mamas šŸ¤
I’m currently pregnant and just found out my baby girl is measuring in the 3rd percentile for weight. My doctor said everything else on the ultrasound looked normal (heartbeat is good, etc.), but because she’s small they’re sending me to London for a more detailed scan.
I’m really anxious, especially after everything I’ve been through, and I’m just wondering…
Has anyone else had a baby measuring this small during pregnancy?
What ended up happening? Were your babies okay?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences—good or bad—just so I know what to expect šŸ’›

I just want to say that I’m in the same boat as you, and waiting for answers. I’m so sorry. It’s such an anxiety inducing spot to be in.

I’m 34 weeks along, and my baby boy is measuring all over the place. 12th percentile overall in weight, but his head is in the 80th percentile, and his waist is in the 4th. šŸ˜•

Not sure how to even feel about that. They’re sending me to a specialist at a children’s hospital…but the appointment is two weeks away and I’m waiting on pins and needles.

I hope everything turns out well for you. I’m gonna follow along on your post to see if anyone else has any answers.

In previous weeks 28 and 30 we were measuring in the 3rd percentile and they started checking me every two weeks but I was encouraged to ensure I was eating enough. Last week at 33 weeks I measured in the 6th percentile so they are now checking every three weeks. It's out of our control so I'm just considering myself lucky that they are monitoring it as they want to ensure that the placenta is feeding her enough.

From London. I was sent to fetal medicine team for this and one other reason. Got bi weekly scans and my daughter had marginal cord insertion so was lower percentile. If baby is following their own curve on a chart even if lower it should be fine! If babies losing weight then they know there maybe a cord or placenta issue. Good luck!

My little girl was measuring the same . We had big scans ect back in Cardiff anyways she was born at 37 weeks and she was small size for gestation on the 2nd centile. 44cm for 2kilos400. Didnt need nicu or else next day we were home
She is now nearly 3 . She is petite but following her centile :) .

Scan are very not accurate x

My baby was measuring small i think she was estimated to be 4lbs. She was born early at 34+6 at 3lbs. Perfectly healthy, she feeds amazing putting on weight like you wouldn't believe. She's just a tiny girl.
I wouldn't stress there's nothing you can do, your baby is small that's it, obviously unless they tell you there's a reason that's of concern

Same for my daughter , I delivered at 37 + 6 , she was 4lb 10oz at birth . And now she’s a very chunky 9 month old

Yeah first girl was born 5ā€4lbs she came spontaneously herself 8 days before due date, no induction was mentioned nothing. They had one look at me and put it down to genetics as I’m small myself. No one was concerned. I gained like 10lbs I was ā€œall bellyā€ couldn’t tell I was pregnant from behind, didn’t have the waddle either. My mum had me same size. I gained so little and didn’t have much weight to lose PP that I bounced back in like 3-4m

Newborn outing

When did you first take your newborn out in public places? He’ll be 6 days old tomorrow, is it too soon? It’s just I have a 4 year old and it’s Easter holidays so I feel bad staying in x

Growth scans

Do you remember how much your baby was predicted to weigh at your last scan vs their actual weight?

With my first they said 3.3 kg at 38 w and baby was born 3.1 kg two weeks later. I am pregnant again and having growth scans just curious to see how often they get it wrong.

Has anyone gone into labour before their section date but still had a section?

Currently 34+4, baby is now 99th centile and is an estimated 7lb already, c section scheduled for 38+1. Lost my mucus plug over the weekend and just been at my midwife appointment and baby is sitting LOW and is engaged. Even the midwife said she didnt think id make it to 38 weeks. Whats everyones experience with going into labour and then having a section? Im so scared now that shes going to arrive in the next week 😭

Amniotic Fluid Index

Hi guys, I just had a 32 week scan to see if my placenta has moved as needed. She did measurements etc whilst I was there and my fluid is sitting above the usual charts. She said before I left that I’ve got more fluid but not a concerning amount more, she just said when my waters go they will go šŸ˜‚ but I hadn’t seen the chart at the point. She wasn’t concerned at all but wondering whether anyone else has had this?
