Emergency section here!
Deffo NOT disposable underwear. They aren’t breathable for your stitches and will hinder recovery. Cotton granny pants and maternity pads instead. Pjs a size too big/ night dress. Really don’t think I needed anything else specific. Just be careful when getting up and down and have a pillow handy for sneezing and coughing - gently hold it over your stomach because you will feel like your insides are bursting out when you sneeze but the pillow will help x

A peri bottle was super useful! You’ll be bleeding and the last thing you want to do is bend over loads to wipe and clean up.

I also bought lots of button down pjs and just wish I’d taken a massive T-shirt. I was so hot on the recovery ward I just sat in my unbuttoned pj top and underwear!

Peppermint tea for afterwards as you'll have a lot of trapped wind which can travel to your shoulder, sounds weird but true.
Take regular laxatives.
Tie a cord from a dressing gown around the base of your bed so you can pull on that to help you sit up/get out of bed.
Get moving as soon as possible, you really won't want to but try and stand up straight ASAP as it helps with recovery, try not to hunch over.
Also this is really weird but your legs can swell pretty bad after a section I didn't expect it and my shoes didn't fit! So I had to send my partner to grab me some adjustable sandals 🙈

Two parties on the same day, WWYD?

Our DS was invited to his nursery best friend's birthday party one month in advance, we immediately confirmed. The party is 2 to 4pm.

About a week later we got another party invite from some long time friends. The party is the same day but from 12 to 2pm on the opposite side of the city, so it will take a 40 minute drive to get from one to the other. This child used to be best friend but they haven't been available to meet for the last year, so I was thinking about skipping this party. However, my child keeps asking about them and it is possible for us to attend, just complicated. So thought I would go and leave early (stay for hour and a half instead of 2 hrs) and go to the other party around 10 mins late.

Is it too rude to leave the first party early? We are staying for most of it. Or is it better no just not go?

What would you do?

Honest truth about C sections

I am a first time mother having an elective c section. I’ve been told that it’s a shame I am doing an elective as thank God my baby is healthy. I need to know is a C section better than a birth? If you have had both please share your experience below !

Newborn outing

When did you first take your newborn out in public places? He’ll be 6 days old tomorrow, is it too soon? It’s just I have a 4 year old and it’s Easter holidays so I feel bad staying in x
