Every time me and my husband get into even a mild argument, I think to myself that my son is being traumatized lol we don't even yell or argue often.

I think all parents likely cause harm. Intentionally or unintentionally. We are all fucking up our kids somehow probably. I think it would be impossible not to

I think it’s the good parents who worry about this, the bad ones who actually are traumatising their children for life don’t care so don’t give it a second thought. Nearly every time I sit down after putting my daughter to sleep and think back through the day I make myself feel guilty for all of the things I could have done better. But again, I don’t think we are going to traumatise our kids because we are trying our best and admitting our faults. I mean put it this way, according to my Mum she has been the absolute perfect parent her entire life, never setting a foot wrong, now ask her children and see what they say 🙊

No matter what you do theyre sure to have a complaint so just do your best.

I have BPD which is said to be caused by young childhood trauma. When you think of trauma you think, physical or sexual abuse or neglect or something else major. I had none of that. What I do have is a mother with some pretty unobvious narcissistic traits who chose work over me, men over me, and inflicted emotional abuse, all of which was perfectly hidden under the guise of how well I was being raised.
It’s common for kids of BPD or Narcissistic parents to do the same to their kids, especially since most of those kids will be born being sensitive to mental health issues. I’m scared every day I’m inadvertently doing harm to my daughter that way without even knowing it. I hope when she gets older that all I hear is a bratty teenager telling me i’m terrible bc I won’t allow something or whatever, and not one who tells me I never make them feel good about their self, or that I don’t listen, or god forbid doesn’t talk to me at all.
My partner was great whilst on paternity. We were lucky and he was able to take 5 weeks off which was a huge help to me recovering from a csection and being a first time mum. However now it feels like im doing everything. He works shift work and is currently on an 8 day stretch with a variety of shift times. I get it, work is tiring but so is looking after a baby with very little sleep. He'll make me lunch before he goes to work or offers to let me go back to bed but by that point im too awake to sleep enough before baby will need fed again. I want him to help more but idk what he can do to help. I breastfeed and am cosleeping with baby so most nights hes through in the spare room.

My mum is obsessed with trying to get me to go baby groups. I live in a city and dont drive so its a lot harder than she thinks coming from a small town. Baby is only just 4 months and I think its still early for us yet. Hes been a very fussy easily overstimulated baby so I've not been in any rush to put ourselves through it yet but when hes older and sitting ill absolutely think about going. My mum is now saying he needs to go otherwise he'll be scared of other babies?! I just dont think she understands how hard ive had it. Im also EBF but she bottle fed so constantly thinks hes hungry.

Had my baby early by 1 month so didn't have time to do my full nesting which I was very much n looking forward to. On the day i came home after 4 days in hospital i was cleaning. I hoovered, washed our clothes and put washing on. Thew a lot of things away ect. No n problem and baby is 8 days old now ive been to the supermarket for a food shop, and taken my toddler to a play group at the library. Its this to much? Vaginal birth no complications. Done this with my husband in tow so he is helping a bit lool.
When people see me out everyone is saying omg well done or you should be resting but 1- really tricky with a toddler and 2 I need to get this done! Mentally I'm very active i like being out, I like being in the sun and we have beautiful October weather at the moment so want to enjoy it while it remains BUT am I pushing it too much? I dont know whats too much and also want my husband to step up if needs be and he will if i ask but dont know what i should actually expect from him. He asked me why is eveeyone saying well done and you should rest you haven't complained about anything and its true I haven't.. I guess im asking what was your expectations of your husband post birth? What did he naturally do and what did you ask him to do.

My little boy will be 2 in November and he has been a fussy eater for pretty much a year. Comfort foods are any type of pasta/ mash potato (soft foods) Will not eat meat no matter how I serve/cook. He will only eat it if I’ve blended it in with a sauce… he’s really sceptical about trying new things and refuses before he’s even put it in his mouth. Each week I will put a safe food along side something I’m having to encourage him to try new things but we are not getting anywhere and have been trying this for a while. Im honestly stuck on new foods/ dinners to make that he may like. Seems to me it’s a texture thing. Anyone else had any experiences like this? He also has to have lactose free meals as high amounts of dairy can cause him to have a major flair up with eczema😢
