Do you need to go to baby groups

My mum is obsessed with trying to get me to go baby groups. I live in a city and dont drive so its a lot harder than she thinks coming from a small town. Baby is only just 4 months and I think its still early for us yet. Hes been a very fussy easily overstimulated baby so I've not been in any rush to put ourselves through it yet but when hes older and sitting ill absolutely think about going. My mum is now saying he needs to go otherwise he'll be scared of other babies?! I just dont think she understands how hard ive had it. Im also EBF but she bottle fed so constantly thinks hes hungry.

I tried a couple of baby sensory classes and they were good, my little one become slightly more active and curious as she’s not been around other babies before. And is good for socialising for me as well. It can be good for both you and LO.

My first I never went and I have put myself out there a bit more with my second mainly because I’m more confident taking him out solo. I really regret not going with my first. It gets you out, is good for baby but more so it’s great for your own mental health! You can meet other mums with similar aged babies and chat x

I found it great to be social with other mums and talk about how we do things with our babies. We all went out for coffee after class and it was lovely to gain confidence going out with my baby too! My boy seems to love the classes too and always hits a new milestone after them so I think its good for him too. Ive moved to Wales so learning some Welsh at the same time is a nice little hobby while on mat leave

I went to baby groups from the first week, they really saved me as I suffered with mental health massively. I have made such good friends and seeing the other mums has become the highlight of my week. It felt like no one really understands what you are going through like another mum so it was a godsend. Everyone is different though ☺️

I haven’t been, and I’m not sure whether I will in the future. I’m quite introverted and group settings make me very anxious! However, we have other babies in the family so I’m not concerned about a lack of socialising.

Don’t feel bad or pressured if you’d prefer to wait until they’re a little bit older. There’s no rush! Your child has years of opportunities to attend classes and groups ahead of them.

I've recently started taking my 4-month-old baby out much more, and I waited because this stage is perfect for babies to go out too, look around, touch, sense, and hear different things. You shouldn't rush if you don't want to, but as I see in my group, all babies seem to love looking at each other 😍

Reception school (don’t judge pls)

Hello mama’s

I feel bad I haven’t sent my eldest 4 year old to reception. The reason I have done so is, he can’t put on his coat, socks, shoes, or trousers. I help with that and it’s my fault because I find it easier to get done with as I have 2 younger kids.

I don’t want my child to be a burden to the teachers and for them to do a job that’s suppose to be a parents job to teach their kids.

I also came from a family where all my siblings and myself started from year and skipped reception as well as nurseries.

I really want to break that cycle but I’m also scared to send him to school. Any mothers on the same boat and what did you do to deal with situation?

Prior to my eldest, I had 3 miscarriages and I’m scared of loss. I don’t want him to get hurt.

Early weaning

I know this will divide people but I’ve been buying the 4 month old food pouches for my 4 month little boy and giving him a little as he was showing an interest.
Has anyone else done this or any advice or tips and tricks

Help

My 2.9 is being a devil.

Like it's becoming unbearable. Screaming at me, back chating, crying screeching when she doesn't get her way. Never listens. Nursery is also having a hard time with her.

I recently had a baby. How do I manage her behaviour when nothing works. Nothhhhing works.

When is this tantrum phase over....

Parents of 2 or more boys

My first is a girl, she is 4 and is a dream. My son is 3, as the weeks go by he is getting more and more boisterous, high energy, won't listen, lashes out when he's kicking off, throws absolutely everything, destroys pretty much anything he touches. I'm currently pregnant with my second boy..and I'm terrified to be honest. The idea of having two boys, 3 years apart, is really filling me with dread. I wouldn't say I'm a natural boy mum, I've really tried to embrace all the boy things he likes and try to understand boys more so I can do right by him, but I will say it doesn't come naturally to me, I do it because I love him so much.

Has anyone got two boys? What are your experiences? I want to feel better about having two, but I'm open to all experiences!

And if anyone has any advice on how best to bring high energy chaotic boys up, I'm all ears!

10m biter

Hi looking for some advice!
My 10m old has decided to cut four teeth all at the same time 🙃 she obviously in discomfort & thankfully teething powder are working wonders for her.

However since she started cutting these four she has started biting - thankfully just me & her dad.
We’ve started telling her “no biting” or “no teeth” & give her a toy to bit instead of us which sometimes works.

Is there anything else anyone can suggest for us I would hate for her to bite anyone else at playgroups etc.

Baby starting solids!

Hi all! We just got back from our 4-month pediatrician appointment, and they mentioned that we can start introducing food! I was a little surprised because I always thought you were supposed to wait until 6 months 😅

have you started solids yet, or are you planning to wait? If you did start around 4 months, how did you begin and what foods did you start with? Any advice or tips would be appreciated! 🥹🤍
