My 2.9 is being a devil.

Like it's becoming unbearable. Screaming at me, back chating, crying screeching when she doesn't get her way. Never listens. Nursery is also having a hard time with her.

I recently had a baby. How do I manage her behaviour when nothing works. Nothhhhing works.

When is this tantrum phase over....

How are you typically handling tantrums? And would you say they're mostly meltdowns, or tantrums?

This doesn't sound like an age related phase. It sounds like a big life change situation.

There is now a baby who gets a lot of your time and she's at nursery so she's probably feeling left out. If she's getting a reaction for the negative behaviour she'll keep doing it cos at that age they don't care whether attention is negative or positive

Sounds like she is having some big feelings about the new baby... but you have to stay calm and not give in. No means no. It's going to take a while for her to adjust to sharing her mom and dad with the new baby. I'm speaking from experience I have a 2 +3months and and almost 3 month baby

We had a phase like this, it lasted 2 weeks and sometimes rears its head now. But we held the boundaries but as compassionately as possible. Lots of cuddles and one on one playtime as much as possible. It's hard - all sympathy to you xx

One thing to consider is her diet, what sort of foods and drinks she typical has on a regular basis. I went through something similar with my son as well, I completely cut out dyes and started switch to more organic foods. There’s big a huge change in him, the terrible tantrums and bad aggression stopped. I am a crunchy mom lol but I promise you it’s worth it!

Her age is about cause which leads to effect and at her age she cant manage emotions aa well as an older child could . Acknowledge her feelings and sit with them with her. Show her feelings are valid but behaviours are learned, you’re not born with it. Your behaviour will be a mirror. And I’m not judging or shaming but if you already label your child is evil maybe her behaviour is getting to you and she’s noticing that. you need to see your child as something completely new to this world dealing with everything for the first time you have to be the anchor and show her the power of patience and kindness even if that means a challenges you everyone learns especially with their first child, as we all know that changes everyone of us. You need to be the example and as a new Mom of two, you’re on a new chapter and you have to navigate it well also being there for your first born so I’m sure it’s not easy but no matter what she’s your first born and needs you to understand her more now .

Hey mama, I experienced some difficult behaviour with my little girl when I had my son. Although I wasn't feeling up to it, I made a me and her day and when the baby was napping made sure we had an activity to do together. I know it's difficult. Have you tried getting her involved in caring for the baby? Such as feeding. Getting the nappies and the wipes and stuff like that? My little girl loved helping the baby and helping mummy. She was so proud to tell everyone. And yes it is so much more exhausting, I know but it may help her change her behaviour. xx

That sounds hard. What is her diet going ? Screen time ? Also I would learn about how to deal with a new baby in a family. Very good information in the book "calm parents, happy siblings" so you can help your biggest to adjust.

Reception school (don’t judge pls)

Hello mama’s

I feel bad I haven’t sent my eldest 4 year old to reception. The reason I have done so is, he can’t put on his coat, socks, shoes, or trousers. I help with that and it’s my fault because I find it easier to get done with as I have 2 younger kids.

I don’t want my child to be a burden to the teachers and for them to do a job that’s suppose to be a parents job to teach their kids.

I also came from a family where all my siblings and myself started from year and skipped reception as well as nurseries.

I really want to break that cycle but I’m also scared to send him to school. Any mothers on the same boat and what did you do to deal with situation?

Prior to my eldest, I had 3 miscarriages and I’m scared of loss. I don’t want him to get hurt.

Mat leave disappointment

Has anyone else been entirely disappointed with their sendoff from Work? This is my second baby, the sendoff last time was poor anyway, a quick battered gift and shout out in a team meeting, but I didn’t think it could get any worse. I remember my husband being made a fuss of at his work last time, and thought it was so lovely!

I’ve been there for seven years. They’ve gradually replaced team members with younger and younger team. I’m in a team of about 30 and most are in their early 20s enjoying London life, no one really gets having a baby.

The handful that do have kids, they’re pretty much all uni age, and I feel like they’ve completely forgot what a big deal it is

I finished two days ago, just got some flowers in the post from my team with a pretty generic message about how much I’ll be missed. I see E cards go around for peoples birthdays with bespoke messages from individuals and I didn’t even get that. There was no shout out or farewell messages on the last day despite it being in everyone’s diaries.

I get on hugely with everyone in the team, I feel like a well liked outsider, the strange person in their 30s having kids. And it’s almost felt like an inconvenience to everyone that I’m pregnant. Lots of ‘can you not come into the office more’, really not acknowledging how uncomfortable a long commute is

One person even said to me that I should’ve put in a leaving lunch myself and how nice it would have been. When I first joined the company, these were always arranged by other people and we would have little Work baby showers with games and gifts, they were so cute. Would feel quite self absorbed putting my own Work baby shower in the diary 🙃

It’s all really disheartening. I do the request to send them pictures once babies here, kind of want to delete them all off Instagram to be honest!

Early weaning

I know this will divide people but I’ve been buying the 4 month old food pouches for my 4 month little boy and giving him a little as he was showing an interest.
Has anyone else done this or any advice or tips and tricks

Baby starting solids!

Hi all! We just got back from our 4-month pediatrician appointment, and they mentioned that we can start introducing food! I was a little surprised because I always thought you were supposed to wait until 6 months 😅

have you started solids yet, or are you planning to wait? If you did start around 4 months, how did you begin and what foods did you start with? Any advice or tips would be appreciated! 🥹🤍

10m biter

Hi looking for some advice!
My 10m old has decided to cut four teeth all at the same time 🙃 she obviously in discomfort & thankfully teething powder are working wonders for her.

However since she started cutting these four she has started biting - thankfully just me & her dad.
We’ve started telling her “no biting” or “no teeth” & give her a toy to bit instead of us which sometimes works.

Is there anything else anyone can suggest for us I would hate for her to bite anyone else at playgroups etc.
