I am having my C-section tomorrow! What would you pack that I might have forgotten? TIA

Polos/chewing gum (peppermint), for the gas! Nice moisturiser for your face, helps you feel human in the night when everyone’s asleep and you can’t move. Flip flops for the shower. Snacks snacks snacks!

Handheld fan and face/body wipes. Even at this time of year the hospitals are boiling so this was a life saver for me!

larger pants than normal i found my section wound so painful with pants and trousers pressing on them x

Windeeze tablets! Take them as soon as you get out! Helps with trapped wind so you can eat quicker! Also snacks!

Chewing gum
Big comfy pants
Pads
Book
Skin care
Dark coloured towel
Slippers

A pillow to hold against your stomach on the drive home. That journey is not for the weak 🤣

Nothing! :) I literally used nothing I packed. They had everything. Packing is overrated. Just have your phone and your phone charger with you and relax.

Prunes/dates to help with side effects from the painkillers

Your own diapers the hospital ones suck

Robe tie to help getting in and out of bed. Tie it to the bottom of hospital bed. Do the same when you’re back home

A folder for all the paperwork and pamphlets that the hospital gives you

A coffee thermos cup. Fluffy socks!

Mint tea or mint chew gum or mint supplement.. I had gas was hard to even fart and was painful.. I told the midwife she brought me a mint tea and was relief once I drink it .

Adult nappy/diapers or postpartum disposable underwear were incredible. Slippers that you don’t have to bend down to put on, and pants that don’t sit directly on the incision area. Don’t be afraid to ask the nurses for help managing pain, assistance or anything you think is even slightly embarrassing; they are there to help and have seen it all

Can’t recommend chewing gum enough and maybe some coconut water or another hydrating drink.
The hospital had disposable underwear and maternity pads so ended up not using mine (got the Frida ones to use at home as they
don’t rest near the incision)
Be careful of using peppermint tea(helps with wind) if you are planning to breastfeed.
Also a nightdress as I lived in them and not my pjs as there was nothing pressing on my stomach.
If you are in UK the wards are kept really warm so a handheld fan will do you wonders.

definitely disposable pants the hospital ones weren’t great. a pillow for your stomach for drive home it helps so much
i found isotonic drinks like flat Lucozade really helped keep energy up xx

If you’re planning on breastfeeding stay away from peppermint as it can effect your milk! Other than that comfy clothes that are loose and baggy, slippers you can put on without bending down. Snacks and a flat drink with electrolytes.

I packed a bunch of stuff and didn’t use any of it. I didn’t even change out of my gown until it was time to go home. I don’t even think I brushed my hair much till I was leaving😂😂 only things I used were my phone, charger and speaker for white noise

Maternity pads NOT disposable pants! You have to take the whole thing off to change and the trousers too rather than just changing a pad! And when you cannot bend f* that! Pads and pants all the way!!!
Nighties as well as pyjamas. I had to wear a catheter for 48hours so was a nightmare with pyjama bottoms. Remember to size up and up again lol
Slippers you can slide into anytime f you want something on your feet. I just had my crocs
Has anyone had a c section scheduled, but then baby decided to come early? What happened then? Were they still able to do a c section?

Hi all,
Had my 28 week scan and baby was measuring 67th percentile overall, but head at 97th percentile.
Freaking out that something is wrong with their brain and have to wait until Thursday for my 32 week growth scan.
Had a loss at 24 weeks last year and don't think I could cope with more bad news :(

I am aware that the fear I am having is irrational but I am seeking similar stories and some re-assurance. I had a private scan which I thought was 9th week, it proved to be 13+3 weeks, despite rushing to book NHS appts, I missed the window for NT check against Down Syndrome. My blood test against the syndrome at 17 weeks came back low risk, my 20 week anomaly scan showed no concerns and everything is fine, including nuchal fold in norm. However, due to the fact I had no NT checked (I realised post private scan that it was just a basic one), I am kinda freaking out as I am 40, already feel guilty that I got my dates so wrong at the start, and the private examiner asked if I planned the blood tests which felt a bit odd. It might have been just a routine question, however it's stuck with me. Any similar stories? With happy ending of course 🙈😅

Hey! Just been diagnosed with GD, I’m not sure how I feel about it other than trying my best not to overthink! Does anyone have any tips or has anyone else had GD? 🩷
