C Section pain - 5 weeks pp

Hey everyone.
I had a c section 5 weeks ago and all went well with the operation. The pain completely cleared after week 2.

I'm now 5 weeks pp and the pain/aching has come back! Getting up from the sofa, out of bed etc I'm in quite a bit of pain. Just wondering if anyone has had similar after no pain at all for a few weeks?

You just had a major abdominal surgery cutting through 7 layers of tissue. Your scar tissue, both external but most importantly internal, is just forming. Often, that scar tissue sticks to itself and to nearby organs. All pretty normal but can cause pain. Have you started gentle scar mobilisation? It's still early days, but in a few weeks time I recommend visiting a physio for a Mummy MOT and booking yourself into a scar massage to start breaking up that internal scar tissue.

All of that is assuming that you're healing properly. If you're worried, it might be worth looking out for signs of infection (scar hot to the touch, weeping, smelling unpleasant, fever, feeling generally unwell etc) and reaching out to your GP if needs be. And listen to your body - if something feels off, follow it up with a doctor! It can be "normal" to an extent but it doesn't mean you just have to suck it up and suffer! Xx

Change in due date or not?

My doctor said I’m measuring at 18 weeks 6 days instead of 20 weeks… do you think they will change my due date or leave it alone?

Contractions?

I have started having period pain cramping - that feeling when your period feels like it is starting. I have also had some sharp pains at the bottom of my bump. Are these likely to be contractions?

Send help

Had a growth scan today at 34+5...baby girl is now plotting on the 99th centile and a HUGE 7lb 1 already. No wonder i feel like shes going to fall out my big toe 😬😅
C section is booked for 38+1 (not just because of her size). God knows how much more she will grow in the next 3 weeks and 3 days...not that im counting down the days 😂

20 week scan - Measuring small

This is my second baby and she is measuring around 200g less than my first at her gestation (this baby 270, first baby 470), we were referred to speak to a doctor before even leaving the hospital today and then have a appointment next Tuesday and then on the 1st of may due to how small she weighs on the scan, the doctor was saying so much and now I'm terrified that she's too small, has anyone had a small baby? Or was told their baby was going to be small and have a good outcome? Ive been feeling her kick from around 18 weeks fully so shes strong just small...
