Early delivery

I had a routine midwife appointment on Monday at 3, and the midwife struggled to get a good heart beat for more than 10 or 15 seconds at a time, so I was told to go maternity triage so they could do it

Once I was there, babies heart beat was low and within 20min I was taken to delivery and told I needed an emergency c section but I’m only 25 weeks + 4 at the time. The babies heart rate was going from high to low for about 3 hours but after that he recovered and went back to a regular rhythm at normal speed. The main reason I didn’t go for the c section because they couldn’t tell me why he’s heart rate was going low, but they were incredibly pushy on having the C section, putting a cannula in and barking orders and making me sign consent forms while everything was happening at once.

I’ve spoken to a few other people about it and what their experience is and all of them have told me that the hospitals they were at recently did everything they could to keep baby inside them for a long as they could before delivering to give them the best chances.

Is the hospitals treatment of me normal or am I overreacting?

Baby is all ok now had a more in depth scan and apart from small tummy he’s great

I'm sorry that happened, that must have been very stressful and upsetting for you. I'm pleased that your baby is ok.

I do think, though, that the people you need to speak to are the health care professionals involved. They are the only ones that can explain their clinical reasoning to you, taking into account all the facts and factors that need to be considered that are specific to you and your baby. You can contact PALS for the NHS to investigate.

Strangers on here (medically trained or not) are not going to be able to tell you anything.

Did you refuse the c section or did they say you would need one after further monitoring?
Essentially they will only be doing what they think is safest for the baby, they will have no ulterior motives to deliver your baby this early.

I’d personally have accepted it. Like the above comment says they’ll be doing what’s safest for your baby.

Just because they couldn’t say why doesn’t mean the c section wasn’t needed. Sometimes they don’t have all the answers but they do know what’s the safest option at that time.
Please keep very close eye on movements and go back to triage if you feel you need to xx

Changed due date

Anyone had their date change at 12 weeks scan?

I used my last period and also fully tracked ovulation, I had a due date Oct 10.

In my 12 week scan they said Oct 15

Now I don’t know which to use as I know the 12 week scan can place things wrong due to the tiniest millimetre off measurement

What did others go by and what was accurate?

Second baby here!

Birthday

So idk if this would be considered bd drama, but he just texted me “happy birthday” my birthday isn’t until April 20th, we’ve known each other since 2024. And I just feel a little sad that he doesn’t know my birthday. Should I appreciate that he tried? Or be upset that after all this time he still doesn’t know my birthday?

Damp pants.. can your waters go incredibly slowly lol

Or did I pee 😅

I woke up this morning with a damp patch in my undies that I noticed when I pulled my pants up after a wee.. I did smell it and it doesn’t smell like wee and I got my husband to smell (lol) and it didn’t smell like wee to him either but I’m also very hydrated...

I have sat over the toilet and nothing is dripping out of me so I think maybe I just lost a bit of wee over night or just before I noticed?

Elective C-section

Guys I'm 13 weeks but I'm already extremely terrified of birth and specially tearing and injuries down there. I'm thinking I'd rather suffer the pain from the c section than going through natural labour. I like the thought of everything being planned and I'd know what's going on. Any of you in a similar situation?

I’m having my baby tomorrow

I have just found out that I am going to be induced tomorrow. After a rough pregnancy this is the best decision for us I will be 39 weeks and 5 days. Anyone got any tips or advice to make the process smoother.
