Moving to April 2026 babies

35 weeks and 4 days my water broke spontaneously and I gave birth at around 11 am super healthy he didn’t go to the nicu , this is my second baby and my first was born spontaneously at 34 weeks and 2 days so we made it further than my first , good luck all mommas, wanted to give a positive birth story I got my epidural at 7 centimeters dilated and 90% effaced , after my epidural which only took 8 minutes to place I was in 0 pain even when I pushed him out , yall got this mommas

Induction prep

I’m being induced at 40+4 and been told to get there at 7am, I’d love to hear how people kept themselves busy, how their day went! Any positive stories? But also realistic stories of not getting seen all day, how it went particularly if your cervix wasn’t favourable… how long it took? Also why is there lots of negativity around the oxytocin drip? Thanks!

GBS positive + water broke , but no contractions — when did you go to L&D?

My water broke around 8 AM this morning with a pretty big gush, and I’ve continued leaking some fluid since then. I’m GBS positive, but I’m barely having any contractions — maybe just a couple all day.

I’m trying to figure out whether I should head to Labor & Delivery now or stay home a little longer, rest, and wait to see if contractions start on their own. I’d really prefer not to go in too early if everything is okay.

For those of you who were GBS positive and had your water break before contractions started, how long did you stay home before going to the hospital? What did your OB/midwife recommend?

Just to add — I’m really trying to avoid being induced and give my body a chance to go into labor naturally. From what I’ve read, the actual percentage of babies who develop a GBS infection is very small, even without antibiotics. I’m obviously not trying to put my baby at risk, just trying to understand how long it’s reasonable to wait for contractions to start naturally.

20 week scan

I had a private scan which said she was a girl, and I will ask them to confirm if they can 😂

Congestion season upon us 😂

Anyone else’s baby sound really congested? If so, any advice on what you’ve actually found helpful? Have tried saline drops… calpol plug in… think we might just have to ride it out!

Feeling like a bad mom/wife

So the other day my husband pulled a 14 hour shift, leaving me completely alone with the baby from dead morning to like 10pm. Well during this time I was caring so much about just getting my son everything he needs that I completely forgot to eat that day. Well fast forward to the next morning I was so sick, had a fever, couldn’t keep water down. And now for the last 24 hours be been throwing up EVERYTHING, I can’t drink water, eat saltines. It’s awful. My fever is also going between 99-103 degrees Fahrenheit. Well my husband just texted me thinking I got him sick bc now he feels weak and has a fever. My son is also acting a little sick and feels warm. He also has a diaper rash bc my fever was so high I couldn’t get up in a timely manner to change a poopy diaper. If only I would’ve taken care of myself, or even just have eaten something this wouldn’t have happened. My husband and my son are sick all bc I couldn’t take care of myself. I feel awful, I feel like I failed my family. Idk what to do. I’m so upset with myself for this

Baby’s first birthday 🤍

My LO is turning 1 on the 20th and I feel like I’ve failed in a way because I have no support village no friends and I feel like he will miss out on experiencing a celebration. I’ve brought him so many presents and I’m taking him to the sea life centre he loves fish, whales etc.. and I’m going to decorate the room for when he wakes up. But I just feel like I’ve failed 😞💔
