I was gonna start 2 weeks post c-section, I have places to be things to do and my parents work. I dont have a partner or anyone to drive me everywhere, but as long as you feel ok for it, should be ok. If your worried and want to start driving again soon just go to the doctors and see if they are ok with you driving

I was driving by week 3 because I felt back to normal! Everyones healing journey will be different, but if you feel okay to drive then I'd say go for it!

My daughter was in the NICU so I drive 1week after but I got it okayed by my OB before I left the hospital

I was about 5 weeks as my partner returned to work so I had no other way in getting about/to appointments. For us, the 6 week GP appointment was very much about them checking the baby and not reviewing my progress to “sign me off” as such.

I dont feel ready just yet as I've had a few infections and currently my wounds infected but its almost healed and I'm alot more mobile and in less pain now so hoping maybe by the end of the week or next week I can start to drive ad the weather's getting lush and theres not many places for me to enjoy within walking distance x

I was told you aren’t insured to drive for 6 weeks post c-section?

4.5 weeks for me but definitely check what your insurance policy states. Mine didn't say 6w so I started as soon as I felt comfortable (and knew I'd be able to emergency stop) x

It's based on your car insurance policy in the UK.

Many insurers list a c section as invalidating insurance until you've had your 6 week all clear from the GP. They check your scar area alongside doing the baby checks.

For me personally, I did not feel at all safe driving until 8 weeks post. I just knew it didn't feel right, including lifting the car seat out, the core strain was immense. But insurance issues aside, everyone's different.

They say as long as you can do an emergency stop then you are able to start driving again. But also to note check your insurance policy. Some will let you drive sooner with doctors clearance some are strict and won't let you drive until 6 weeks is up. If you drive sooner it will invalidate your insurance if anything happens.

There are so many appointments! Pediatrician, chiropractor, lactation, tongue tie procedure, etc. I was probably driving way sooner that I should have. And carrying that huge car seat around 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’d say two weeks bc that’s when my husband went back to work.

I was driving by week 3 because I felt well enough. Plus my baby was in ICU so I had to travel every day to travel back and forth to see him and cab is expensive multipl times a day x

At 4 weeks

I’m 19 days and drove for the first time yesterday locally

With my first no one said I shouldn’t drive before 6 weeks and didn’t even think about it cause I felt fine. Drove at 2 weeks… oops now know not to 🤦🏻‍♀️

Before 6 weeks invalidates your insurance

5 days. To an app. I had complications.

I hate driving so I milked it as long as I could, lol.

Not before the doctor says so. Especially if you're in the UK. Even with someone hitting you, your insurance would be invalid. That's probably the same for other countries

4 weeks. I was losing my mind being stuck inside on my own (in a tiny village without even a cafe I could walk to!)
I told my health visitor I was thinking of driving and that I felt it would help with my mental health (I was feeling REALLY anxious in the first few weeks and had nothing else to do but sit at home googling stuff!!) and she said she felt it would help me, as long as I felt confident and comfortable.
Just check your insurance! X

I contacted my car insurance company and they said I was still covered if I feel that I’m okay to drive so I was driving at 3 weeks x
