Hi, couple of questions. Due on Monday and couldn’t find any good information so I figured I’d ask those with experience. I have a couple of questions.
1. I heard wiping the lower belly to make your baby pee before you change their diaper works really well for not getting peed on for boys- I was wondering if it’s the same for girls and if it’s as much as an issue for girls? Would like to avoid getting peed on lol.
2. When you do change your lil girl, I know you wipe front to back and there is a limit on how much pressure you should put- would anyone be able to give me a good example of how much pressure should be used? I asked a nurse and they basically said however much it takes to get clean, but I’m not up for accidentally hurting my kiddo if I can help it lol
3. Is there any advice I can get from experienced moms in general? I want to pull all of the knowledge I can so I can do the best I can.
Thank you!

I’ve never heard of wiping their tummy before they get changed. I never once got peed on during a diaper change so I don’t think that’ll be an issue.
As far as pressure you’re not really pushing on their private. For pee wipe gently to get the pee off their skin. If the have a blow out you just keep wiping till the poop is all clean out of everywhere 😅.
I would say if you’re really concerned about pressure think about the pressure you push on a tomato to see if it’s ripe. That probably the most you’d want to do.

1. It sometimes works not all the time though. I say this because it always worked for me but somehow my husband almost every diaper change
got peed on despite doing this😂
2. You would really have to be trying to hurt your daughter in order for you to actually hurt her when wiping. Pee you really don’t have to put much pressure at all it’s the poop and getting that out that you have to kinda apply a little bit more. Something that may help is spreading her vagina apart and then wiping just to get in the creases and make sure you get it all out!
3. Only other thing I would add to this especially since your nervous about hurting her is that little girls can get (not always) like a “Mini period” from having a dip in estrogen from you. It’s not super heavy, when it happened to my daughter there were maybe a few spots in her diaper and then a little bit when I wiped her and it happened for like two diaper changes and never happened again.
