Any single mums studying at Uni?

I am thinking about studying,I m single mum.Are there any grants? Loans? I would like better quillificatsins and hopefully it will help me with jobs.Is there flexibility? I do worry about borrowing money and I also want to think about my future and when my daugeyr is older I will be able to get a good job.English is my second language so I m worried that I will struggle with assignments,is there a hleo available? I work a Teaching Assistant due to childcare,it's so convenient but the pay is so bad,I m trying to think of ways ti improve my life.thanks

Have you got A levels? (This is for entry requirements) Or previously been to university? There are student loans and grants based on income. Open university is also an option.

I don't get anything for living costs.It was only for studying.It hadn't much at all.

It will be easier to look for a course you want to do. Then see how you can work around childcare and your job. If you found open university hard it might still be difficult if you go to uni in person.

I’m in the US not UK so maybe it’s different here but I’m doing my masters degree and I’m a single/ solo parent! It’s hard but my degree is online and self paced so it’s possible for me.

If you apply as an independent student you can get a higher loan amount up to 12k a year ontop of your student loan. You can't get that if you do your course through open uni tho, only if youre studying in person im pretty sure

Youre not entitled to any benefits whilst youre a student. I had to work full time whilst studying to pay my rent and bills food shop ect. My maintenance loan helped but I used it all for rent and I had a bursary too but still had to work full time, different unis offer different bursaries. But you aren't entitled to any benefits, use benefit calculator to check but in my case I couldnt get anything

At what age did you ladies go back to work after having your babies? ❤️

My little boy is 8 months old (almost 9), and I’ve recently been offered a really great opportunity to work for a company my friend works for. It’s an opportunity I’m genuinely excited about, but I’m also feeling quite emotional at the thought of leaving my little boy.

I honestly hadn’t really thought about going back to work just yet, as my partner has never once pressured me to find a job or even mentioned me needing to go back. I’ve been really lucky in that sense and have been able to enjoy this time with my baby without that pressure.

Now that an opportunity has come up, it’s made me realise that I might actually have to think about it, and I don’t know if I’m quite ready emotionally! 🥹

I know every mum is different, but I’d love to hear your experiences. How old were your little ones when you went back to work, and how did you find it? Did you feel ready, or did you struggle with the thought of leaving them? 💗

Sex just isn’t the same…

I used to LOvE sex. Was what my man and I would do anytime of day. I just had two babies back to back and now it’s just not the same. I don’t know if it’s postpartum or what. I hate my body first and foremost. I have never been comfortable with my body shape but after these back to back babies I feel like I still look pregnant so getting naked doesn’t feel sexy anymore. My husband says he loves my body, but inside I feel he just says it to make me feel better so I’m more likely to get freaky with him.
On top of body issues I’m F***ing tired! I’m a stay home mom for now (which is new, I have always worked) and with the constant go go go, crying babies, cleaning, stressing, shopping. I’m drained.
I hope things just a phase and I can become more sexually active with my husband. I do try to sleep with him to keep him happy but sometimes it’s just that.
Anyone else having these problems??

Long periods

I just turn 40 last month. I noticed my period taking longer then normal to start. This month in particular my period is lighter then normal and when I think my period is finished it starts up again. Is there vitamins I can take or should I go on birth control to regulate my period. I also want to try for baby #2 . I'm taking neoQ10 and a prenatal. I got a blood test to check my hormones and thyro and everything came back normal. What can I do to have a normal period again ?
