First home birth

Hi all, I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby girl due in July and I'm planning a home birth with a doula.

What essentials would you recommend to have at home for the birth, such as, clean towels etc.

I can send you the list of supplies my midwife made for me! It won't fit here in the comments but I can message you ☺️

I used a tens machine and put a load of sheets down on the floor in the living room. Thats all we needed and used. So dont feel like you need loads. Just sheets/towels/plastic covers for anything you dont want to get messy or where your planning on giving birth ect. Im trying to remember if there is anything else i used but i dont think so xxx

Chucks pads, disposable undies, oversized shirts for if your boobs grow five sizes. Mattress protector for the bed, clean sheets ready to go just in case. Hand bidet for after care. Drinks with calories for during labor. Bendy straw to drink it with. All the snacks for after.

Potential early labor?

I have intense chest pains and very faint cramps around my lower stomach often not always noticeable. If I’m honest I’m not 100% sure if I’ve lost my mucus plug yet? I have had a high increase of discharge the past few days to the point Ive needed to change. What is this? Is it possibly early labor? I’m a ftm and 37+4 now

Newborn inserts

Soo how old/ big was everyone’s babies when they took the newborn inserts out? My girl is 6 months and I would say weighs about 8-9kg

C-section Mamas

I had a c-section 2 weeks ago. My incision looks to be healing nicely and I’m not in much pain at the incision site. However, my stomach hurts to the touch above it. Is this normal or should I reach out to my doctor?

Pelvic/hips and back pain

36 weeks tomorrow and I’m really going through it with all this pain, I shuffle when I walk as it’s just too painful to actually lift my feet, I’m taking paracetamol almost everyday to help it. Only time it’s not so severe is when I sit but when I move to lie on my sides or even get up I am very much gasping for air and moaning with pain.

I don’t see the point in going to a physiotherapist as it’ll take so long for them to see me and I’ve literally only got 4 weeks to go, plus for me I reckon it won’t help just being told different exercises to do which I’ve researched and tried and unfortunately nope, don’t work.

I’m at that stage where I may have to request my midwife to possibly consider me for an induction as I am really beginning to get upset about it struggling with daily life and needing my partner to help me get up/go to the toilet/lower me into the bath - get me out/ etc.

Anyone ever experienced this before in a previous pregnancy and have had to get induced because of it? Or are currently pregnant and maybe this is happening to you?
