I loved my induction. They gave me the medicine to start contractions and stuff so I can get up to 10cm. Once my body took over and I got my epidural I was in labor for 24hrs then they broke my water and I pushed for 3 contractions:) I was also induced at 37weeks and I’ll be induced again at the same time with this pregnancy

I had a great induction! Got there at 11:30am on a Saturday, had him at 10:20pm Sunday. I was an elective induction, so I came in at 0.5cm dilated. They started with cervadil for 12 hours, then I got cytotech and a foley balloon. Once I was dilated to 4.5/5cm, they started Pitocin and I got my epidural. Best 8 hours of sleep of my life. I practiced pushing for 20ish minutes before the doctor came in and then he was out with one final push. The most important thing is staying calm and remembering your medical team has done this hundreds of times and they know what to do for all circumstances! You got this mama!

I actually was induced just because I’m heavy into planning. They offered and I agreed. I would go to maternity leave and spend the most time with my baby. Let’s be honest working at 39 weeks pregnant is not fun I was not about to work 40 weeks pregnant. I hated the balloon part but the rest wasn’t terrible tho this was my first and only birth. I didn’t look up how to push my nurse talked me through everything and she was out after 40 minutes of pushing. At about 9cm dilated I threw up pretty bad they gave me some anti nausea but all in all i think it was a decent experience considering the horror stories I also heard prior. I had her within 24 hours of the balloon.

I was induced at 40 weeks 4 days due to having diet controlled gestational diabetes. I went in the night before at 5pm to have foley balloon put in, went home for the night, then returned to the hospital next morning at 6.30am. Took the balloon out, then broke my waters at 7.30am, started IV drip at 8.30am, and Bub was born at 1pm. Contractions were slowly building from 9am until 11.30am, then suddenly it got very intense and was time to push

I had a very abnormal but overall good experience with! I went in to the doctor at 37 weeks (with twins), they found out I was developing hypertension that turned into preeclampsia and I was having regular contractions that I didn’t notice. They were going to induce me the following week so they just bumped it up a bit, but I didn’t feel any of my contractions. They got me hooked up to Pitocin and I was on it for about 12 hours until they wanted to break my water and get things progressed a bit faster so I decided to get my epidural. I took a little nap and when I woke up I felt some pressure and knew I was fully dilated so they checked me and it was time to push!

I got super lucky with my experience considering my twin pregnancy was rough!

Tubes tied during C-section.

So I went for my appointment today with the consultant to consent for my elective C-section.
He offered to sterilise me at the same time which caught me off guard as I never even thought of it 🤣

I mean it would be nice to not have to take contraception for the next 15/20 years but I’m a bit skeptical.

Has anyone had this done during their C-section and if so, how did you find the actual procedure and also the aftermath?

Thanks :)

C-section booked for my birthday!

I had an appointment this afternoon to book in my c-section, and the only date available is my birthday! They’re fully booked several days before and after.

On one hand, it could be a nice distraction as I’m really nervous about the surgery, I’d have something to talk/laugh about with the theatre staff. Tea and toast post birth could be tea and birthday cake! But I feel a great deal of sadness that my child won’t have a special day of their own.

This sort of thing can’t be helped with spontaneous labour, but it’s a shame it’s likely to be the outcome of my planned c-section! 😕

Baby position

When my stomach tightens I can really feel the shape of the baby which is almost like a V. Two hard long lumps and a soft bit in the middle, I have no idea what position she’s in! Anyone got any ideas?

C section infection

Hello! I’m currently almost 6 weeks postpartum. For 3 weeks I’ve been dealing with an infection in my c-section wound and it just doesn’t seem to be healing. I’m on my second round of antibiotics and also have a steroid cream but the infection isn’t clearing up and I’ve now noticed that part of the wound has opened slightly. Did anyone else have issues like this and if so, what help to solve it eventually? I’ve convinced myslef I’m never going to fully heal!

Anyone going over their due date and considering an elective c-section?

I’m due to have a c-section on 40w+3d. Just got my date today and am feeling quite nervous!! If I go into spontaneous labour before, I would love to try vaginal birth - but I’m 39w+2d today and the baby seems rather comfortable where she is (no sign of labour). Basically I’d like to avoid an induction if she is overdue (for fear that it may lead to an emergency c-section / other complications). Is anyone in a similar situation, if so what’s your plan - to wait for spontaneous labour (till when?), induce, or have an elective c-section? For context, I’m a 33-yo FTM without any health issues so I think I’d be a bit gutted for not having attempted vaginal birth!
