Planned c-section

For those who have had a planned c-section, how long was your hospital stay? The midwife said they aim to discharge people within 30 hours (assuming no health issue). Curious if that’s the case for you x

I've got mine on Tuesday and was told 24 hours! X

I had emergency this week and was out in 24hrs but they were desperate for beds! X

I haven't had mine this time (yet) however 2 years ago they wanted me to go home after 18 hours 🤦🏼‍♀️

24 hours usually, I had to stay longer because I couldn't go for a wee after they took my catheter out

Had mine at 9.45 on a Tuesday was discharged at 1.30 on the Wednesday x

My first I was in 3 nights but this time was sent home the next day! Just depends on your recovery x

2 nights for me both times but voluntarily, I wanted extra support and recovery time as I have no family here so we paid for a private room. I was up and walking around for coffee the same day as surgery though so I could have gone home 24 hours after if I wanted.

I just had mine, had her Thursday morning and was home by Friday tea time x

I had my c section 2 weeks ago. LO was born at 10:56am on Sunday morning and we had to stay to be observed for 24hrs. I was discharged at 5pm the next day (Monday), but could have gone sooner as they were super busy so discharge paperwork was delayed.

I was discharged the next day. after about 30 hours.

Sensitive subject but need advice....

So I have genital herpes (super triggering for me as came from previous relationship) throughout my pregnancy so far I have had atleast 3 outbreaks, despite being on meds everyday to suppress it.

I also have endometriosis, pcos, fibromyalgia, and suffering with severe PGP. This is my first pregnancy.

My OB and I had a chat at 21 weeks about c section vs vaginal birth and he has said the choice is up to me. He provided me with all risks of c section and vaginal birth. I am so torn.

My main concern is if I plan for a vaginal birth, I will likely have to have an emergency c section if I have a herpes outbreak during or around labour/due date. Which feels likely, as i will be stressed. My other concern is if I am able go vaginal birth, with the soreness down there plus a possible outbreak I wont be able to cope with the pain and irritation down there.
With c section obviously big concern is its major surgery whilst being awake, and the recovery time is more. I already am suffering with severe pelvic girdle pain, so will a csection make it worse? Will i be able to comfortable breastfeeding baby or will we need to look at combi feeding or formula?

Had anyone on here been in my position? What did you do? Any advice?

Preemies?

Any mums in this group suddenly find themselves a mum of an October 2026 baby and not a December one now?

We were visiting family in the next county (for less than 24 hours mind you!) and found ourselves rushed to hospital with bleeding, preeclampsia and an emergency c-section baby.

Being at the hospital, recovering from c-section whilst my son sits in his incubator is definitely not an experience or thought I ever had for this pregnancy. Anyone going through similar??

Induction day (foley balloon)

I am being induced 10/27 and around 8:30a i will have the foley balloon placed. has anyone been induced and started with the foley ballon? id like a brief idea of what im walking in to pain wise and how long you had yours in, etc, etc.

Vascular issues

Anyone else dealing with varicose or spider veins / had them in a previous pregnancy? This is my first time having them (it’s just on my left leg) and wondering if this is something that goes away after delivery or if I’ll need to see a vascular specialist. I’m 33 weeks pregnant

Anyone else struggling with energy/motivation?

I work full time in a school, I'm in the leadership team so fortunately do not have a class of children, however I am lacking so much energy at the moment. I often sit at my desk and have no motivation to do anything and the work is piling up! I am not sleeping well which isn't helping.
I have an almost 5 year old at home, who is lovely and not a handful at all but obviously still needs my time and energy after work and I am just feeling completely drained.
I thought the second trimester was meant to be the easier of the three, but boy am I struggling to even keep my eyes open in the day!
Is anyone else feeling the same?
