Sensitive subject but need advice....

So I have genital herpes (super triggering for me as came from previous relationship) throughout my pregnancy so far I have had atleast 3 outbreaks, despite being on meds everyday to suppress it.

I also have endometriosis, pcos, fibromyalgia, and suffering with severe PGP. This is my first pregnancy.

My OB and I had a chat at 21 weeks about c section vs vaginal birth and he has said the choice is up to me. He provided me with all risks of c section and vaginal birth. I am so torn.

My main concern is if I plan for a vaginal birth, I will likely have to have an emergency c section if I have a herpes outbreak during or around labour/due date. Which feels likely, as i will be stressed. My other concern is if I am able go vaginal birth, with the soreness down there plus a possible outbreak I wont be able to cope with the pain and irritation down there.
With c section obviously big concern is its major surgery whilst being awake, and the recovery time is more. I already am suffering with severe pelvic girdle pain, so will a csection make it worse? Will i be able to comfortable breastfeeding baby or will we need to look at combi feeding or formula?

Had anyone on here been in my position? What did you do? Any advice?

I don’t really know anything on the topic but take the pelvic pain out of the equation completely…once that baby is out that pain all goes in seconds!!!😅I was in severe pain from about 30 weeks, baby’s head was wedged low in my pelvis. I had many days where i genuinely couldn’t walk. My 5 min walk to work would take me 30 mins and I’d have to skip walking my dog and ask my partner to do it. The second I pushed my baby out I was running round my labour room saying how amazing I feel😆everyone’s like omg you need to take it easy but I was like nooo I feel 10x better🤣so don’t even give that a thought, it won’t be an issue.

The choice is yours my love, can you not book a c section and then decide closer to the time whether you have an outbreak or not?

My humble recommendation is to schedule an induction so you labour for a bit (good for preparing baby and your body for breastfeeding and this world!) and then having a planned c section for a few hours after your induction. And I’d have a GA for c section. If you’ve laboured for a bit it won’t feel as though your baby just pops up, you’ll feel as if you’ve worked very hard for it! And you will have ❤️

Preemies?

Any mums in this group suddenly find themselves a mum of an October 2026 baby and not a December one now?

We were visiting family in the next county (for less than 24 hours mind you!) and found ourselves rushed to hospital with bleeding, preeclampsia and an emergency c-section baby.

Being at the hospital, recovering from c-section whilst my son sits in his incubator is definitely not an experience or thought I ever had for this pregnancy. Anyone going through similar??

Vascular issues

Anyone else dealing with varicose or spider veins / had them in a previous pregnancy? This is my first time having them (it’s just on my left leg) and wondering if this is something that goes away after delivery or if I’ll need to see a vascular specialist. I’m 33 weeks pregnant
