I went into labour naturally and got to the pushing stage. After quite a few hours they checked and realised baby was facing the wrong way so she was stuck. I ended up with an emergency c section.
After birth my bloods didn’t go back to normal and I had something wrong with my kidneys. I stayed in hospital for 4 nights. Luckily my bloods returned to normal and a follow up scan showed my kidneys were back to normal. They concluded it was because my body had been under stress by being in labour so long accompanied by the c section surgery.
I have been thinking about this when thinking of having a second child. I would opt for a c section straight away this time and hope it would be less stressful on my body. However, my worry is that it would happen again but not go back to normal this time.
I know this is probably very niche but wondered if anyone had a similar experience? Or anyone had complications after a c section but have gone on to have a better experience for a second c section?

I labored for 20 hours with my first and then had to get a c because my daughter was stuck in my cervix. I got an infection on my incision site after my daughter and had to stop breastfeeding due to the pain, could barely walk, and they had to lance it open to drain it. I’m now pregnant with my second and will be doing a c again due not thinking I can handle having an unplanned c-section again plus planned c-sections have lower complication rates.

i think scheduled c sections are less strain on your body , me personally i've only had one but mine was also an emergency but i didn't have the complications like you had ..

Can anyone please help me advise what to buy for my hospital bag when it comes to maternity pads/knickers? I am very stuck! Not sure obviously whether this will end in vaginal birth or c section, but any recommendations would be very handy!

I had my first scan and baby is looking very healthy so far! (Measuring around 9 weeks) I do have some health problems and considered high risk so it was a big relief to know that so far everything is going okay

Hey, has anyone got pictures of their rooms from LGI labour ward?
I'm making my birthing plan and wondering if I'll sound silly when giving my preferences for environment. For example, I've asked for a dim room with sensory lights if possible. But if its your typical white basic room I won't bother coming across as a primadonna 😅
