Did any of you struggle to collect colostrum before baby’s birth? I tried everything, watched tutorials etc and nothing is coming out… if that happened to you, were you able to breastfeed okay?

I didn't even try and I successfully breastfed until 2.5. Colostrum harvesting does not show whether you'll be able to breastfeed or not.

I couldn't do it at all yet i ended up producing a ton of milk and breastfed for 19 months

Barely got 4 mls before birth. Started with combi feeding first 2 months pp. exclusively bf (direct or pumped) from after 2 months

I couldn’t get much when I tried but tbh, I haven’t touched it anyway. Been breastfeeding for 5 weeks and he has only gained weight since birth.
There’s no correlation to colostrum harvesting and ability to breastfeed, so you should be fine!

I was unsuccessful, my second day PP I starting seeing colostrum but like barely then 5 days PP my mature milk came in. Everyone’s body is different! Try not to stress, HYDRATE, and have good protein. Those factors help/ affect your supply, especially starting off.
Thank you so much everyone, that’s really helpful and reassuring 🙏

Yes, I managed like a ml in the 2 weeks I tried before giving birth, and I have been nursing / pumping for 9 months now with LO on almost exclusively breast milk. Don’t worry about it too much, once the hormones kick in you’ll likely fine! Best of luck! X

I couldn’t get any at the time. I tried warm compression, warm/hot showers …everything. Then the day after I gave birth I was able to successfully breast feed and also pump. Don’t worry too much about not being able to collect it before birth xx
Has anyone got any advice on sleep training? My nearly 15 week old is fine at night sleeps in her moses basket in our room still but in the day she will not go down in the cot in the living room as soon as I put her down she’s awake and won’t go back to sleep 😩

My baby’s dad performed a DNA test on him and my baby without my knowledge or consent. My baby wasn’t even a month old at this point. Any advice or thoughts? He’s not on the birth certificate.

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.
Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.
Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

How do people deal with colds and flu when you are breastfeeding and can't take cold and flu tablets? I had my flu jab yesterday but they said that it takes 2 weeks to work. My husband has a nasty cold and is taking cold and flu tablets, I can feel myself starting to get it but I checked with the doctor today and they said that I cant take the tablets due to breastfeeding as there is a decongestant ingredient which impacts the milk. How do people manage to care for their baby while fighting sickness and trying to avoid passing it on to them?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice
